Last Sunday was a really, really nice day for a change so we caught the bus to the city and jumped off with the idea to walk up to King's Park. The road on Adelaide Terrace was blocked off and they had a crane on the road with it's boom extended waaaaaaaay up almost vertically to the top of a sky scraper.

They were lifting down what appeared to be massive air con units. Didn't realise a movable road crane could actually extend si high up. Here's some shots I got of it anyhows... enjoy. (If some appear a little lightish, that's because I wanted to drop the shadows a little bit to bring the boom out)

Those cranes are awesome, until it fails, which is usually an epic disaster :D

I love the pano. Those cranes are crazy things. I can imagine Archimedes pointing at one excitedly and shouting 'See, that's what I meant, that's what I meant right there!'.

yo dawg, we herd you like cranes; so we put a crane on your crane on your car so you can lift while you lift while you drive!

never noticed those sculptures at the belgian beer house before. It's nice to see they're finally doing something about that massive inner city hole in the ground.
