Yeah just no.... Tell me again when you can play both games at close to 1CC level :D

FF is the ultimate in challenging beat em ups.

I can 1CC SoR1 and 2 on their highest difficulty with all characters. Never tried with Final Fight, but it feels a little more rote to me.

And in part, that's one thing I don't like about FF. I prefer SoR1/2 in every aspect. Music it wins hands down, and few would disagree. Both SoRs have a far greater and more interesting move set (only Sengoku 3 comes close as a traditional game, versus AvP/Punisher which almost feel like different styles of game to me).

I think challenge is much higher on FF, but that's not a selling point for me (similarly, I'll take Symphony of the Night over Ghouls and Ghosts, or Metroid over Dark Souls).

I find "ultra challenging" games require more precision and less flexibility. Nothing wrong with that, and I get why people love it. But it's the same reason why high level tournament Street Fighter was never fun for me, compared to casuals. Especially of late I've really turned toward games that let me experiment more, and require less "follow the one true path" style ultra precision. And again, I'm all for anyone who loves that stuff. But it's not for me.

I thoroughly recommend Final Fight 2 and 3 (not so "final", eh?). Both are SNES exclusives.

3 especially is really interesting. You can opt for an AI player 2, and it has Super Street Fighter 2 style super-special meter and moves.

2 includes my all time FF character, Maki (who also appears in Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Capcom vs SNK 2).

    What did you go with?

I *really* want the Switch version in the Genesis case. But AUD$101... oof...

I just got the regular Switch version, I love the idea of the Genesis box but I find non-standard boxes are annoying to fit in with others on a shelf.

Same, but I buy them all the same. My shelves are these nice uniform collection of games, and then an oddball shelf full of weird cases that don't fit.

I’ll get a digital copy from the PlayStation store when ready, then likely stump up for a physical copy when its been out 6 months and gotten cheaper!

Can’t believe there is still no formal release date...

I'm told the LR pre-order phase lasts two weeks. If the Aussie dollar doesn't behave in that time, I'll stick to digital as well.

Not sure. I *really* want that Genesis box. But the Aussie dollar sucks, and honestly I don't need more physical crap in my life and/or games room.

    But...

I figure Carona Virus will have killed me by the time this game comes out and I haven’t even got it yet...

Awesome news. I relied on retro mode a few times in Wonderboy the Dragon’s Trap to get through the odd bit that was easier in that mode.

every time I see this thread has been updated I anxiously check to see if there is a damn release date. I know it’ll be worth the wait though!

Looks like it only changes the playable character into "retro mode" though? so looks a bit out of place :/
