    Hi all,

Been a member for a while and have been lurking a bit more for the past few weeks. I’m looking for upgrade my PC at some point before the end of the year (mostly just gpu and monitor).

I’ve currently got a BenQ Zowie RL2755, but am wanting a 144hz monitor. My friends have told me to get an IPS monitor over a TN one because the image and colour quality is better but the ones I’ve seen are a bit expensive for a uni student! The LG 27GL83A is what I’ve been looking at - is this one which you guys would suggest, or can I get better ones for a similar price range (friend at JB can do 600)?

Additionally, I’ve currently got a Radeon RX 480 for my GPU which has served me well but isn’t quite running Path or Exile optimally. What are your suggestions for a mid range GPU which would run PoE at decent frames and CS:GO at high rates as well? I’ve been a member for 3 months but not active so I believe I can’t see the buy/sell posts.

    Other specs:
    CPU: intel i7 6700k
    mobo: msi z170 Krait gaming
    RAM: Corsair vengeance DDR4 4GB x 2

3060 when it comes out is what id reccomend because its got good performance (from leaks) and is about 500-600 bucks and is considered mid to high end

Really depends what your overall budget is really, how much your looking to spend Monitor vs GPU, I picked up a Asus VG278QR 165Hz which has been fantastic for anything I have thrown at it

I was ideally wanting a 1440p and would say I don’t want to dish out more than 850 (which is a little picky). Do you think there’s a big difference between 144 and 165 hz?

I wouldn’t be thinking there would be that much of a difference, but then again I wasn’t overly worried about gaming at 1440p, gaming at 1080p works just fine for me, the other problem is, if you get the monitor your friend said, it really only leaves you a budget or $250 for GPU, you can pickup a RX 580 8GB for that money but not much else will suit purpose really
