So yeah maybe some people from OCAU went along? I didn't do much other than shoot cosplays in a vacant booth on all 3 days. Line con was too long and the exhibition halls were full. Comments welcome.

Great work making a semi studio in that crowded hot and busy place..that's fantastic..

I was there but didn't have a "shooting area" like that, so my photos arn't up to that standard.. Well done.

    Nice work!

I don't recognise Jack, though. What is/was it? (My first thought of 6 was Snake Plissken, wrong eye for the eyepatch though... :o)

I don't know how I missed it but I've seen heaps of your shots on Facebook.

Didn't realise you were a member of OCAU.

I follow quite a few Aussie cosplayers on FB (Eve Beauregard, R4Hscal, Something Wicked Cosplay, Black Cat, Mad Maven) and you've taken some fantastic shots of them all in the past. Sorry I never noticed it was you lol.
If you ever have time, would love to pick your brain on a few things.

There are plenty awesome Aussie cosplayers that have popped up in the last 2-4 years.
Back when I was still in practice (and super excitable about photography) 5-6 years ago it was slim pickings (maybe not quite slim but not as well publicised).

This is Pinky's FB Photo Album.

Dan a.k.a. Something Wicked Cosplay has to be one of THE BEST Spiderman cosplayers I've ever met, which by the way Pinky, your photoshoot with him and Eve the other week doing Spiderman and MJ was awesome :D

Cosplay is kind of a hit and miss. Mainstream Australian media dont 'get it' so it doesnt get publicised that much. An example is Channel 7 Sunrise last Saturday with some rather rude & clueless comments from the presenters. :thumbdn: I mean what's there that doesn't make sense? Dress up as your favorite character. People do it all the time for themed parties and Halloween.

A lot more Australian cosplayers are being discovered on facebook these days, before you would just find them on Deviant Art or other international sites like WorldCosplay. You get to see some pretty darn good cosplay on sites like CosplayGen too. It's picked up at conventions in the US so it helps that game developers, conventions (like Blizzcon, PAX, E3) and publishers have supported the hobby (rather than shut it down for copyright infringement).

I should have embedded the metadata.

Really nice photos. I like 7 and 3 the best, as they have the softest light. Lighting is a bit hard for me in the rest, but I couldn't have done any better.

AH! That explains it. I was thinking Jack from Mass Effect, but there was the second one with Jack Action that confused me & I though they were both from something called 'Jack'.

Correct, she's also using a figurine of Toothless from How to train and your dragon as her dragon lol.
