Definitely! Lots of fun to be had down Fingal way. Looks like a great location.
It's meant to be 11 degrees on Sunday night, so that should mean it's pretty cloudless.
I'm guessing we wont be seeing the moon until ~5pm tonight then?
Ah dammit, missed this thread.
If the burger shop is still there at the caravan park, get the works, best burger I've had on the coast, probably wouldn't get the health inspector tick but ha ha!
This one -
This is someone else's comparison between a "regular" moon and last year's supermoon.
Can't see what the fuss is ...
An extra couple of mm on the moon isn't going to change what a photo would look like.
(they aren't good photos by any means but just to illustrate)
Just a good excuse to find new places and get cool photos IMO. And yes moda, about 5:15.
Thanks for the mention ApathyGates
It's moon rise around sunset so could be sweet depending on the location. It looks pretty clear here in Brisbane today so hopefully clouds won't impede the rise. I might head out this afternoon, just depends what a mate is doing. I have to be back by 8pm for something so that puts a dampener on it. Nice clear night skies for start trails the last few nights!
Popped my head out the door just 5 mins ago.
Not really fuss worthy.
Moon is bright yes, a shade yellow, but no where near as large as it gets when its low on the horizon (Atmospheric Lensing FTW) nor as red.
Twelve million people ontop of Mt Coot-Tha with 550D/600D/D3100/D5100s and 55-250mm kit lenses and $20 tripods.
Nothing was really working for me, mt coot-tha is a tough location at the best of times framing wise... and especially when you need to meter twice
We'll see what we get....
Should have bought a picnic rug and made out with some camera gurlz moda show them your big lenses.
anyone got some good locations on the north side?
North pine damn?
I have a girlfriend
Very, very, very, very, very quick and dirty edits in photoshop since i'm extremely late atm lol... I think I killed the sharpness on quick glance?

PS, I know you can see my edit in #2, shuttup
So around what time is it suppose to happen? It looks like a normal moon to me
I was almost going to head up to Mount Cootha....glad i didn't. I think if you had an 800mm lens it would have been good.
This is the best my 70-200mm can reach (can be bigger if i can wait till it hover on top of my house)
Here is mine from Mooney Mooney.
Taken with D700, 70-200 f/2.8 @ 200mm & 2x tele (TC20e-III)
I couldn't resist..
Keep in mind that I shot this through clouds as it's overcast in melbourne..
Shot at 1160mm/F11
What lens where you using for that?
