elvis hey mate I was out for dinner with a lady and some friends, no you're not slow, do apologise genuinely if I may have seemed abrasive, you're a solid, no I mentioned a few times the direct opposite as you said you know that retro was working on it then went to namco bandai.

Either way will be a goodway to see what sticks but you made more sense than the youtube vid but these posts will be a good reference when we all find out whats what.

metroid prime remaster is giving me motion sickness which I very very rarely get in games. I wonder if it's the extremely tight FOV?

Hopefully doesn't carry over to prime4

I'm assuming you've played fps games before, the fov ov for prime remastered is about 70 - 75

What screen are you playing on?

Tight FOV, lots of up/down looking (and auto up/down when jumping), visor overlay limiting viewpoint - loads of things going on here that could affect it.

If you're playing on an OLED (or any large screen, honestly), try turning on BFI (preferred) or motion smoothing (not preferred) and seeing if that makes a difference. Motion smoothing will suck for other reasons, but I've seen it help people avoid motion sickness.

On my computer monitor it's okay, on the switch screen itself it's unplayable after about 5 minutes.

Have been playing FPS games for over 20 years, still play them daily. Didn't have this issue playing the original version of metroid prime, but I was 12 then

Nintendo are doing a goodwill burning speedrun this year

    - shockingly expensive new console
    - price increases on the old console
    - donkey kong bananza DLC is an ABSOLUTE rip off
    - incredibly overpriced ports of mario galaxy
    - massive overreach on patent scummery (more so than before)
    - adding big open desolate areas to metroid prime, big enough to need a bike pulled out of the dreadful recent pokemon games

Metroid prime remake was so good. Hope is not lost... yet

Same-same for PS5 doe. I'm down to shit on Nintendo at any given opportunity, but I think there are some orange-coloured external factors at play as to why technology prices are all over the shop at the moment.

Either way, I have pre-ordered the game and the art book. Went for the Switch 2 version because I want that sexy HDR. Do I own a Switch 2 yet? No. But that's beside the point. Good chance I won't have time to even play it until Q2 2026 anyway.

Had a run of the demo at PAX today. Game is looking nice but I'm going to need one of those after market controller shells for mouse controls for it to be viable. Started cramping immediately lol

Looks alright and runs well on switch 2 4k hdr output

seems to sustain 60fps with little effort using DLSS or whatever

it does visually look like an early xbone game and there’s a lot of halo influence here

Played the intro and first bit of the first area at 4K60 then went back with 1080@120 and you can see there is a loss in fidelity but its waaaaay better for me with those mouse controls, instantly controls better. Check for yourself but 120 is the easiest choice I'm going to make with this game.

Also recommend the blade mouse adapter. Much better in the hand then the other ones I've tried.
