Missus and I went for a Cheeseburger at Bowery Lane last week. They do burger, fries w/ chilli salt and a beer for $20 on a Monday night (pg1 of PDF). The picture was pretty much exactly as we received.

The beer was a Brooklyn Lager which was a very good match for the food - enough bitterness to counteract the richness of the beef and cheese. The ladies can have a glass of wine instead. The missus had the white wine although I didn't catch what it was exactly but it was rather soft on the palate and had obviously been cellared for at least 3 years (guessing 4-5), softening considerably.

The missus reckons it is the best burger she has had, period. I didn't quite think so but it was certainly up there and probably one of the best for value. Plenty of flavour although there was nothing overpowering in it - everything worked beautifully together while still being able to pick out individual ingredients.

Quality beef cooked medium (thankyou deity) and plenty of juice dripping out of it. The relish they put on there had just enough tang. And the chilli salt on the fries had just enough oomph in it to give you a little kick here and there to liven up the tastebuds without being hot - very well controlled.

They also do some other burgers too, although they are not on the menu for a Monday night.

For the two of us to go out to a slightly fancier, NY-warehouse/loft style place and walk away spending $40 then we were pretty happy and we will go again for sure.

Tried Goni's Schnizelria in Marrickville on Friday night. Came away disappointed. Overcooked schnittys, delivered to our table somewhere between warm and lukewarm.

Still excellent value for money though, one of them can feed 4 adults for $24.

    Found a good one!

Cheekyburger, Paddington... On Tuesdays their burgers are half price (so that's $7 for a double cheeseburger from memory) with the purchase of milkshake or beer.

The burgers are rustic but great and the bacon is amazing so be sure to add it! Chilli cheese fries are average, don't both.

Berampah Malaysian Street Food, Willoughby Rd, Willoughby. (local area delivery available via menulog)

This place is awesome, have ordered delivery multiple times and eaten there once (with a doggy bag taken home, portions are generous).
Delivery has been consistently before the estimated time and the food is always delicious. Eat-in service was fast and friendly on Australia Day.
Small narrow dining space, so the atmosphere is quite "cozy" and noisy but fine for a quick "in and out" meal on your way out somewhere.
Decor is nice enough for the space, staff were very friendly and responsive, water glasses brought to table on arrival, prompt supply of menus etc.

Peking Duck wraps and Pulled Pork steamed buns can be ordered per piece, $4.50 each.
Chef's special chicken and prawn dim sims with house-made dipping sauce... awesome, $7.90 for 4.
Rice and noodle dishes from $9.
    Mains $15-$25.
Ayam goreng, duck curry, crispy pork belly, nasi goreng, sizzling lamb in house-made tamarind sauce... haven't had a bad dish from these guys, highly recommended.
