    hey fellas

    Team.AU strikes again!!!

dinos22, moloko, youngpro and our friend Victor (nvidiaxp) got together to bench last weekend

we played a little with 8800GT on LN2 and managed to squeeze out some monster clocks out of the little card

    Test Configuration:
Asus P5E3 WSPro DDR3 Motherboard voltmodded
Intel Core2 Duo E8400 ES CPU (Kayl Rotary Cascade)
    2GB DDR3 Corsair Dominators 1800MHz CAS7
Single Gigabyte 8800GT PCIe 2.0 512MB Graphics Card (Kayl LN2 pot)
    Silverstone OP1000 PSU
    80GB SATA Hard Drive
    Windows XP Pro 32bit

we were just messing a bit before some 2900XT runs and couldn't believe how high this card clocks and what sort of temps it was operating under. Needless to say we benched these benchmarks i'm about to post around -100C and then later on in the testing Victor and i started hitting it harder with temps and we've seen as low as -145C and the card was still running

    end result was

    E8400@5047MHz

    8800GT clocked @ 1075MHz Core, 2831MHz Shaders and 948Mhz Memory :)

    3DMARK01: 92,000 points

    Nice..

The thing I don't understand is you do 3Dmark01 tests.. why not do 05/06?

benchmarking is a sport if you will

there are various disciplines and you have to specialise in each one to achieve the best results

3DMARK06 is a quad core benchmark so there is no point trying with a dual core CPU

3DMARK03 and 05 were giving us headaches and we couldn't figure out what was creating the problems for us

3DMARK01 is one of the most complex benchmarks to master btw :) as there are sooo many different things you can experiment with to get the right score :)

You could play crysis at decent frames while your mates sit there tirelessly pouring LN2 :D

Seriously good work guys, it's great to see Team.AU make some impact in the "scene". I'm even sorta proud of our country :p.

To be honest, I'm still stuck in the days of 3D Mark 01 myself, anyway. More of a reliance on CPU/ RAM makes it more interesting to myself. Lets see how long it takes for you to break this record/ be surpassed! Lets hope for option #1, and keep it up guys!

$3@N mate i dont play games, i bench because i enjoy the technical challenge and everything involved with it,

we bench 3d 01 because its so complex, all the other 3d benches have ALOT less involved, i might spend 5 hours doing 03,05,06 and aquamark and maybe another 5 hours just benching 01 because theres so much to tweak and adjust with it..

    107K is where we're at

but those boys in Las Vegas will smash that very just as they smashed 3DMARK03 which is currently at 126K :eek::eek::eek:
