[Team.AU] Corsair Dominators 2000GT C7 retail kit + EVGA Classified = magic

    Hey fellas

    I seem to be in this perpetual "testing" mode but i tell you what, I love it. Getting the end results is nice and all but getting to it is even more fun.
    Always great to talk(&pick his brains) to my mate youngpro during these sessions :up: who is about to unleash a storm from downunder so watch out for that.
    Good to always catch up with the usual suspects during benching you know who you are :p::D

    So in my preparation i've battling with the following components in intial stages :)

    Test Configuration:
    • EVGA CLASSIFIED E760 (S610 bios)
    • Intel Core i7
    • 6GB 2000GT Corsair Dominators CAS7 DDR3 > Week 22, 2009
    • Asus 4870X2 Graphics Cards
    • 1000W HX1000 Corsair PSU
    • 1hp C-BuZz Single Stage (kayl evap)
    • 160GB IDE Hard Drive
    • Windows XP Pro 32bit SP3

    The purpose of all this testing i guess it to be able to at least get a rough idea what sort of settings i will have a chance to try on LN2 before i start going cold.
    I like to pretest on SS to not waste LN2 i guess and i get to concentrate on what i'm doing a lot better than having to pour LN2 all the time.
    Wasting money also makes no sense heheh :p:

    My first concern was 2:10 RAM ratio. This ratio sucks on my Gigabyte X58-UD5.
    I just couldn't get any decent clocks out of RAM past 1GHz with this ratio.
    Why this ratio? Well i'm working with 25xmulti so i've got a couple of options here, to go to 2:8 CAS6 which is fine or 2:10 CAS7 which is better as i can max out the RAM as well at top clocks.
    There is always the 23x multi as well which i will explore but i'll be battling BCLK here so why not start with easier setup first heheh

    I'm hoping to be able to stabilise 32M SuperPi at 5.5GHz so I'll need to be able to run 220MHz bus stable right

    OK so lets start there

    220MHz bus stable with CAS7 2:10 RAM ratio running at 1100MHz 7-8-7-21-1T

    Always start with the good old 32M SuperPi :D

    What about 3DMARK01 >> some of the tests in 01 can be pretty taxing on system itself
    can it handle , cars, lobbies, dragos >> YES IT CAN

    224.4MHz bus stable with CAS7 2:10 RAM ratio running at 1122MHz 7-8-7-21-1T

    hmmm 224.4 * 25 = 5610mhz grrrrrrrrrr fingers crossed hehehe

    This is all nice and dandy at -50C. Now i have to repeat this at -130C with 25x multi :lol::D

    Anyways i've still got plenty more testing ("fun") to do so i'll pop in if any updates occur :thumbup:

    Yes the journey and adventure in testing stage to reach the end result is always fun (when everything falls into place of course) :)

    Surprised by P6T6 WS Revolution board as well very fast for Super Pi even with CAS9 timings!

    Is running the ram at 1.76v close to frying it? and excuse my ignorance but why are you blanking out the CPU PLL Vcore?

    Thanks for sharing your settings and bios profile. Cant wait to build my new system with the classified board and dominator gt ram cas8. Just waiting on the cpu from the states....

    hi mate

    i'm not blanking it out
    it happens with my board and this software

    even if i set 1.8v in bios i get 1.334V on DMM :confused:

    to my knowledge that is the lowest cpu voltage iv seen for such a high clock.

    this EVGA CLASSIFIED E760 (S610 bios) has a perfect adjust. Mad board.

    classified in so many ways do you see my phaze.

    Man these are the aggressive sexist ram modules on the market. No wonder they hold WR clock for clock..

    did some frequency testing tonight on LN2....time will improve when i tweak it properly :)

    looks pretty good

    was forced to run 2:8 ratio though :(
    gotta figure out volts etc

    not too shabby though :D

    still waiting on my w3540 xeon so I have gone ahead and built new system without it. Followed your settings minus about 20% on the voltages ;) because Im not doing nearly the OC you are.

    Have i7 920 c0 running prime stable @ 4.2ghz idle temps 45deg full load 76deg (core temp 099.5 readings)
    Corsair Dom GT 2000 8-8-8-24 Ram @ 2:10 divider

    This board and ram kick ass :thumbup:
