Hey guys, can I have an invite to the OCAU-TF2 Steam group?
Everything is worth what the purchaser will pay for.
Yup, and likely cheaper than buying keys to get it
yeah i want to know why in this case. maybe the guy had a clan photo shoot and needed one in short notice?
I don't understand it either, but it worked out well in the end. My mate needed some money, and there was an idiot who didn't need his!
How do you even sell hats for money? Is it just spamming the chat or is there a TF2 Hat eBay? I have a vintage tippler's tricorne, which according to the wiki is 'very rare,' and I'm really desperate for money.
I hate to say it to you but it's probably not worth much
Vintage Demoman Tippler's Tricorne 1.5 2.5 4.64% (meaning it sells between 1.5 and 2.5 refined and 4.64% of players have it)
So i might buy this game for PC multiplayer. Is everyone equal online or do older players have more weapons/kits/ built up over years of playing?
The only hats that go for more than $50 are Sam and Max and unusuals. Earbuds + Bills go for ~$10-20 each
And the hat selling website is
www.sourceop.com - Go to their forums
I swapped my bills hat for some crappy other hats from this little kid.
I think that it made his day, so that was fine with me since I never wore it anyway.
plenty of fun to be had for beginners. the extra weapons are not really necessary
I use the vintage flare gun / vintage backburner as a pyro with great results though..Crits when they run away and setting them on fire from the other side of the map ftw.
Most other classes I use default weapons though..
cbf googling, but does the 'Vintage' bit have any sort of difference other than the name?
Apart from perceived rarity no
Trading is fun, if you're into that kind of thing.
There are some insane values being thrown around for unusual hats, no doubt.
I think what everyone needs to remember here is that you don't NEED any of it to enjoy playing the game. There are no items that cost you money that make a difference in play.
So.... You can get into the whole trading experience and collect rare virtual items if you're so inclined OR you can just play the game with all that is free within it and your experience will not be any less fun that someone that does pursue the rare items.
So what's the big deal?
I think being critical of people that spend extra money on the game for virtual items is pointless. Some people like to go out to the clubs on the weekend and piss 100s up against the wall, some people prefer to spend their money on PC games...
Massive +1 to this. The only difference it has made in my experience is when OCCASIONALLY you have a player or two sitting in spawn trading, and then they tend to get flamed by everyone else in the server.
EDIT: tl;dr: QUIT YO' WHINING BITCHES
Yeah, especially when they're on the same team and you're 2 people down because of it.
I love that people are willing to trade extra for vintage/paint. It makes it easier to get items that actually do something.
I can see the appeal for hats, but I just can't personally justify paying what they charge.
Clearly you own no hats, you jelly brah? Jokes jokes . Anyone played the beta much? I noticed they give you a huge stack of items when you fire it up for the first time (I got 55 )
Beta for what exactly?
And a massive +2 to the above post about hats!
Someone say hats?
