Due to Telstra billing fuck ups and credits, I got 1500 credit and permanent speed boost that I am not paying for :p

It's worth every cent, just pay it.

    Hmmm..

I thought I did well.. when my internet was down for 61 days...

Got $460 credit.. but due to some weird accounting thingy.. looks like I'm getting another $40 discount a month on top.. will take me 2.5-3 years to beat your $1500 credit at this rate ..

    As for speedboost..

Pre speedboost Docsis 2.0 was getting around 28mb/s.. off peak.. down to 10mb/s during peak..

Post speedboost Docsis 3.0 now get 115mb/s off peak.. and no less than 85mb/s during peak...

    well worth it..

Just say the speed is shit, i wouldn't mention netflix since that's a hog anyway so i'd have no sympathy in their position if ou said it got slow with ~3 devices...You got 3 devices running ok, but it slows down the rest of your net? Yep, 30mb connection working as it should - That's their view.

So you think just ring up disconnections and mention that the speed is slow? I've sort of started on that the last two times, and their reaction is that I've had it for 4 months and I haven't contacted them about speed before, therefore it might be a technical issue.
Do I physically talk about speed boost options? Or wait for them to bring it up?

    Oh, 4 months...

Maybe try say you've noticed that at peak times lately you're speeds have been very inconsistent and that the quality of your services speed just isn't what it was.

Have you got any other services with them? Could also be worth mentioning you were considering bringing your other services to telstra but with the apparent congestion of late you're reconsidering that and may take your business to Optus as your next door neighbour has them and doesn't experience the peak congestion like you do and instead just get decent speeds.

Throw everything you can at them, even if it is over various calls. Maybe even try the 24x7 chat and ask to deal with their specialised sales team who can negotiate pricing etc as you feel the value of your service that you're paying for isn't what you are getting.

I've got Foxtel with them as well.
I'll do that 24x7 chat service and see what I can scrounge up. Peak times is a good idea.

Nah mate, what am i made of, money?

Complained that my "neighbour" got this speedpack for free, and that i demanded to receive the same entitlements as i am a long time telstra customer.

Instant bill reduction and permanent speedpack and silent number (This was also the basis of my complaint)

TBH my bill needed review anyway as i was stuck on a very old plan.

i had speedboost on my account when it first came out (when it was $20 p/m) and i was only getting about 55 down (which is still good, but not as good as i was hoping) so I cancelled it.

When the "free speedboost" offer came up again, i ordered it again and now my speed has been floating around the 90-100 down

You probably spend more in coffees per month :p

If you were on an old plan then chances are you were paying way way too much anyways, so they would probably be quite happy to give you a few discounts here and there.

I'm the other way around. All about priorities, see?? :p

Anyways, I wouldn't do without full speed.....it's just feel crappy with anything less.

Just spoke to someone via LiveChat, whose supervisor then called me.
I did the chat about "neighbour told me he got free speed boost, am I entitled to the same thing due to me being a loyal customer etc?"
Supervisor rang me asking for me neighbours name, service number etc. He mentioned that if it was confirmed they had free Speed Boost he'd match it.

    Anyone else heard something similar?

I've used a similar line before.

Have heard the odd mutter about giving friends name to match the same deal....but generally I never hear of them confirming with others.

I came from TPG ADLS2 at my old house to cable w/ speed boost, so yes. Haven't and cable before and went straight to it with the boost
