Also seems to imply there might be naked dsl options? Unless they're just pricing more if you're with another phone line carrier...

Incorrect. As this *revised* plan is not listed yet (apparently in a few days time it goes live) don't automatically assume uploads will be counted.

Well Optus have similar plans counting uploads, and for once Telstra pricing won't rip you a new one.

These plans won't last long with the complaints in from other isp's, considering that open1(8mbit) ports are like $60/month without AGVC which i hear is in the $150/mbit range...then the data ontop.

ACCC will either have to force a wholesale price drop or the plans will get removed.....

They dont have to wholesale DSL2 ports, only ADSL ports and ULL are regulated.

when you get a quota of 200GB and upload is counted. that takes away from your download. thats what people are complaining about.

Just limit your upload speed whilst downloading.

I (shudder) have gone to bigpond after slamming them for so many years and extolling the virtues of Exetel.

    Got a bundle of:
    • 100Gb fastest speed on my exchange which is thankfully ADSL2
    • Unlimited local calls
    • Unlimited STD calls
    • Free call to Teltra mobiles
    • t-pad

for $139p/m. Threw in a HTC Desire as well and I am now saving $20-$30 p/m for a shitload more download and a new mobile phone, which I am paying $49 p/m for.

Will be interesting to see if anyone else can offer that sort of package.
