Well if you apply yourself anf simply ask for a discount quite often their plans can become quite competitive.

when they're the only supplier you can access, their plans start looking a hell of a lot better than dialup, too.

I'd love to pay less for my 38/1.1 unlimited cable but currently $360 seems to be still pretty good value. Sure it is at least 6x the price of TPG etc naked unlimited, but the transit is pwnage, the uptime is pwnage, the support is about the same, and the speed (which is probably the most important thing) is far beyond what I can get with anything else.

When I get 4MB/s on a download it suddenly occurs to me why I pay what I pay, 1MB/s just seems tiny in comparison :D

Yep, I'm now getting to the point where I have too much gig so I'd like to see prices drop a little more.

A sure sign would be the old Cisco 7246 UBRs being upgraded to 10k series units.

Sorry I misred your post - assumed you were saying the 10k's were missing a few channels.

Yes it was a comprehensive upgrade.

Was just suggesting that the easiest way for someone in Perth with exchange access to see if a DOCSIS 3.0 upgrade was on the way would be to sneak a look at the UBR racks (assuming the rack doors are off).

What am I looking for? Could I tell the difference between a minor upgrade to what 35mbit? and 100mbit Docsis 3?
