I Just hooked it all up not so long ago and ive noticed the temps jump 9c from time to time in idle then return to normal instantly..

anything to worry about?? other then this the temp are fine even under stress..

this a 8700k/water thing? (never did either before)

(everything running at stock/temps average at 25c idle)

Just keep task manager or cpu-z or something running on screen so you can see if there's any CPU spike at the time. I'd say it's just Windows or something else you've got running in the background causing a short CPU spike but you may have just never noticed it before.
The other thing is whether it's just a particular core that runs hotter than the others. That's always possible. Depending on what you're using to monitor it, could it be cycling through the cores and you're sometimes noticing one that runs hotter?

Im thinking the CPU itself runs hot and the half a second temp spike is only occuring cause it takes that long for my water cooler to dissipate the heat
