OMG So many models.
What are your personal reasons for caring about 120Hz LCDs?
I realize more Hz = potential for reduced motion blur.
I know 120Hz = 2x 60Hz, thus great for stereo vision.
I understand that one current method to reduce motion blur is to artificially flicker the LCD at >100hz to speed apparent color changes.
I used to purchase (annoyingly expensive) 120Hz CRTs because my eyes are very sensitive to flicker, and I could tell the refresh rate by looking at a CRT based on the visible flicker if not the pain behind my eyes. With the advent of quality (MVA/PVA/IPS) LCDs, I care no more for Hz. That is why I ask why you care.
If you look up some of my posts on them, I've talked them up for a while now.
I own the 2233RZ and it's amazing.
I had a 30" before that and the 22" blows it away for gaming.
Gaming on 120hz is absolutely amazing, so fluid and smooth. 60hz gaming after you've tried 120hz gaming is just completely shocking.
Motion blur tests on the samsung show that it reduces blur to ZERO at 120hz, I'm tempted to get one but I think it's overpriced for a TN 22". Hopefully somebody comes out with an IPS 22" at some point.
It truly does.
I can move a box of text in windows and there is no blur.
I can flick fast in a FPS from left to right and still see what's in front of me instead of a blur.
It's great for hardcore FPS fans
What's so good about HDMI?
If the price drops I would consider picking one up and selling off my current 22"
For Blu-Ray and playing audio over the same cable.
HDMI is nearly useless for most PC's and gaming PC's.
For Home Theatre, however, it's great. I use nothing but HDMI for my Home Theatre (Popcorn Hour + PS3 + amp + LCD).
So I don't get tearing in games
Yes I have seen your posts but thought I would start a thread considering they are slowly making their way to our shores. Where did you get yours from and for what price if you don't mind me asking?
I can just hook up my 360 to it
I got mine from my work, at the time (launch) $599.
Your 360 won't work on the 120hz? It only uses Dual Link DVI.
I'd probably prefer a 60Hz IPS than a 120Hz TN
Why does it go from 60Hz to 120Hz? Why aren't there monitors in the middle?
Have you seen a 120hz screen?
Quality wise, IPS is great, of course, for gaming 120hz blows the crap out of any other screen I've seen, IPS, 30", anything.
But i don't just game on my screen
Plus my shit computer wouldn't get enough FPS to make use of it haha
120Hz Wish list
Wishing for a set-up of 3 Bezel-less 22" 120Hz in portrait mode...
Powered by some insane graphics card (5970 or better...)
Please keep posting about new 120Hz monitors !
Ahh fair enough, then yeah, tap one of those IPS panels
It's a shame these monitors can't do 1080p.
you know theres a massive thread on the samsung one already
I never got the visual difference between 1080p and 1080i anyway, one does odd lines (i) and p just does the lines top to bottom, how does it change image quality?
I mean, I think the max res is 1680x1050 and not 1920x1080.
Still coming into Christmas the only one available is the Samsung.
I would love to have a pair of some new 120mhz monitors but at this price they are still a little too much.
Need a few more models before the prices come down.
EDIT - Looks like the ViewSonic FuHzion 22" VX2268wm is available on our shores.
