I don't think I'll buy a new case, not really into those replacement cases. Blew me away how expensive they were when they did that for the c64c. If I can't get this puppy to come back to life, and get the keys and case looking good via a spot of retrobrite, I'll probably do an Amiga tower mod. (I always wanted to do that)

Might also look for one of those vampire boards.

retrobriting is a temporary solution, speaking of there have been tweaks on how people retrobrite these days. worth checking at EAB for the latest methods.

And some of the online shops bought bulk quantities too. Pretty sure they'll have some available in time.

I looked at my Kickstarter for the keycaps though, they were expected mid-2017. They didn't arrive until this month. So i don't know how long the A500 cases will take.

    Very interesting news:

    TF Live - Special Update

Stephen Leary (aka terriblefire) is designing (availability ETA Q4 2019) a 68060 board for the CD32 that will eventually be adapted to the Amiga 1200 by Ed Arana. There is also the potential for an adapter to be created to suit an Amiga 3000/4000 as well.

Considering this will be a low cost board i.e. $20 plus the cost of the CPU etc (varies wildly) this could be a great affordable option for many people, considering how expensive (and old) the alternatives are.

Great to hear he is still doing things. I know he walked off for a while. I really loved his projects from an engineering point of view, it was great to experience the project through his video updates and how he was resolving issues.

I wouldn't hold my breath personally even recently Jens threatened to shut down Individual Computers over a spat with another company on the Amiga scene.

That said they have said they are also working on 68040 & 60 accelerators which would be interesting.

How good is this operating system? Given it's age I simply cannot believe how well it multitasks.

Looks like there is another 68060 based solution in the works for the Amiga 1200:

    Thread (in Polish) is here.

A 68060 would be nice! I hope the price is reasonable.

    EDIT: Especially a 68060 at 100Mhz!

Re: the post at the top of the page by Flu!d, where does this setup of Workbench come from? I see it everywhere, the colour scheme, the game selector software etc. How do I get that on my A1200??

oh god, you missed out bigtime - Worms while it has been flogged to death now is one of the alltime greatest local multiplayer games. While it does borrow from some other games, Lemmings it is not by a long shot in anything but maybe visual style the games play totally differently.
