Ah those were the days, my A500 and the bbs.
Love that intro!
AmiBay is another good place to offload your stuff and they encourage fair prices.
Thanks for the tips guys. I'm away the next couple of weekends, so won't be heading out to the User Group meet. To be honest, I'll have to pull it out of the box and make sure its all still working before bundling it off to someone.
rest assured it will be well looked after if i manage to snag it =3
I'm getting all nostalgic hearing about the old games.... might have to make sure the joystick port works properly too
I tried to play some of the old games with winUAE or some other emulator. The problem is I dont have a joystick anymore and trying to play Wizzball or anything without the old joysticks is really hard Does anyone recommend a good joystick that works or do you use a gamepad for PC Amiga emulation ?
Oh wow! I loved my Amiga 500! Didn't do anything to it because I had no money so if I broke it that was it!
Some games that come to my mind are Operation Wolf, Jimmy White's Whirwhind Snooker, Zool, Zool 2, Lotus Espirit Turbo Challenge, The Addam's family, Wings, North and South, Dragon Ninja, Rick Dangerours and Rick Dangerous II
I thrashed those games!
Oh and Soccer Kid! Wow that was a really fun game!
Man, Wings was such a GREAT game, first game I can remember that had such a good story and production values to it, and I remember the elation from completing it.
The Music and the cut scenes were top notch
I've got a cheap dualshock-like logitech gamepad which does the trick. Analogue + D-pads are great on ami.
Avoid the wireless version, shocking input lag.
Dont forget to bind joystick up to a button (to make a jump button).
Bind 'warp mode' to a key so you can skip disk loading.
warp mode is a real necessity, lol.
Anyone else having problems getting UAE working under win 7?
Every time I try to start it I get a nice fail screen, telling me its corrupt. Doesn't matter what version I use as well.
must admit have not tried it yet.
OK, don't know if this is relevant but I have Amiga Forever 2009 which uses WinUAE under it and I am able to use it on Win7 x32.
I miss my Amiga! I am going to have to hunt around and find another one.
agreed, had a fantastic story for the day.
this just came to me...remember in New Zealand Story there were cheats and you just typed them in during play. From what i recall one of them was
easiest cheat i remember was in Robocod where you picked up
Cake, Hammer, Earth, Apple, Tap
Did anyone play Utopia back in early 90's ? Awesome music and atmosphere in the game. A little bit like Sim City in space and with Aliens attacking so you build defence turrets and stuff. Just another one of those games you'd wish someone would remake.
Also Rocket Ranger remake would be cool. There should be a new thread of games you'd wish were remade with todays graphics, effects, sounds, etc.
Anyone use an Amiga 600 or 1200 with whdload?
Carefull, I felt that way too and this year I've ended up with 3.
