Not what you're asking for but I got this for some old guy and he did ok with it.

    http://biglauncher.com/

    It is $12 but there's a demo https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=name.kunes.android.launcher.demo

How does your Dad feel about being referred to as "some old guy"?

Does anybody know what app does this :

Something just got updated on my Note 4, and now when I turn the power on this is my screen. So now I need to swipe to unlock, and then I have to enter my pin.

This update happened yesterday, so i have the feeling some app has added an extra "feature"

Wow a big ad. Hope it isn't some adware stuff.

Go into settings, apps, running and see what doesn't look familiar and Google search any that look suspicious
Or close it and see if the lock screen happens

I think it might be Clean Master.

    Disable the "Boost Charge" option.

Failing that check under Security and look for "Apps with Usage Access" and disable any third party apps access in there.

Still trying to find out which app did it.
    http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ck-screen-annoying-ads-just-appeared-gn4.html

Has a bunch of people with the same issue.
I do have Go Weather installed, so people are saying a lot of the "Go" apps are including it now.

I also had ES File explorer open, but they had a differ "Boost" manager which was not the same as the one I got.

So now it just seems to be an extra "feature" any app can install on an update.

as above, it will be an app with usage access - check security in settings.

Yea the free version is riddled with bloatware. So glad I paid for it. Great app.
Shame it's getting so much negative spotlight from the free version

I swear I tried SE a while back and didn't like it. Either way ES does an excellent job for what I mostly do which is copy to and from network shares.

Except in the material version you can't connect to a hidden SMB share, as it only lets you select from a list (you can't type in the name of a share).

I just checked this and when looking for a network connection it has a "Didn't find what you are looking for" box. Opened that and you can punch in IP address, port and path. That should let you connect to a hidden share, no?

Hey guys, I've got this random feature that has installed on my note 4.

As it has adds it worries me that it is a spy app. But I've not installed any bloody power charging feature on my phone...... ever.
