was that core temps or ln2 tube temps at base??
please dont tell me -10c thats too hard to make that warm :upset:

hahahaah, C-buzz once i did high and low backwards, i ended up evaporating into the drier. it spun me out

haha, should have given it a test run, might have been a bit hard to mount however :)

We measured temps by both BIOS/Windows core temp and inside tube temp (DMM probe touching base inside of tube).
With the runs we did on Sunday, we were using an in-tube temp optimally -50 to -55C, which translated to -20 to -25C idle and -5 to -10C load.

Took the opty 144 & my system for a run today. Now bear in mind i've had no real overclocking experience so if you see anything out of place or have some tips let me know.

The beast held up like a true champ with a 3hour straigh run no problems at all, ambient was around 30+ here in Melb ffs :/ Evap held at around -37 / -38c under load which is ok I suppose for BBQ gas  Really need some 404a or somthing. All my sources for gas has vanished.

    Anyway.

    System specs:
    Opteron 144 S939
    Dfi UT Ultra-D
    1Gb G.Skill F1-4800DSU2-1GBFF 1GB (2x512MB) PC4800 w/ Heat Spreaders
    Seagate 80gb

Got her to 2700mhz pretty much off the bat by bumping the HTT up.

CPu would sit on around 0c - +5c while running SPi at that speed.

Now, got it up to 2893Mhz or somthing like that with 1.55V on the core but Winxp would freeze toward the end. Cpu was around +15c

Had the mem on a 9/10 divider so it was sitting on 183mhz or close to.

    Overclocking suggestions welcome :)

    Thx

Check the mount and make sure you have good cpu contact, its important even if die temps are low.

congrads on getting it all finished. also what did you use over the suction line

memory on 9/10 divider is your problem

drop the divider to lowest value

    what stepping is that CPU

So drop the divider to the very Lowest, leave the Dimm voltage as auto?, whats the max vcore should use?

Yeah my block is a bit warped I think after brazing & not contacting properly, that is standard neoprene tubing, but blue :)

with vcore stay on 1.55v for now

take a photo of the RAM settings and all voltage settings if you don't feel like typing

also let us know what stepping it is exactly

also do you know what that board's HTT limit is as you are working with 9x multiplier there

make sure you use MAL(max async latency)=9 and Read Preamble=7 just to make sure you don't get unstable due to those....................

    leave TREF value at Auto

what sort of RAM have you got

think it goes up to 400HTT or somthing like that.

just tried a run at 2837Mhz 315HTT & Spi froze halfway through. CPU was sitting on -5, ambient is dropping quickly here :)

not sure of the stepping, have to dismantle it to get it.

    of course they are

those settings i gave you are for MAX MHz on the CPU

find your CPU max then we'll tweak memory and SPI

SPI is half decent for stability just use 8M runs
