    Apple's "Stunning" Discovery

So basically the software fix is now to pacify people looking at bars. In actuality you could have 2% reception but apple's gonna show about 10 bars to show that it "fixes" the problem.

    Nice!

It's probably their own fault. Most of the field testing was done using a case to disguise the iphone 4 as a 3gs (like the one gizmodo got hold of). Since it was in a case, there wouldn't have been direct contact with the antenna revealing the issues they have

A typical arrogant response from apple, and obviously using the software fix as a cover up to the real problem. Was thinking of getting one but might monitor how this all goes in Australia before I take the plunge now.

Looking at it more...I want a case that seeks to be invisible like the one I have on my 3GS, not one that makes its brand stand out all over the place. My current Incipio case just has its label engraved at the bottom on the back and it doesn't look very obvious at all.

I wonder how much more radiation it emits.
Maybe a bluetooth handsfree will help with this...

Same here. Not too keen on forking out the money if the phone has massive down sides.

Even though its glass front and back and its missing the curves, i actually quite like the feel of it in the hand once you get over the initial 'delicate' feeling of it. Its very snappy also, all the animation lags on the 3G and 3GS have pretty much disappeared. The hi res screen is amazing, text is razor sharp and blacks are alot blacker. If you've owned an iPhone previously, and have already upgraded to iOS4, the wow factor wears off after a couple of days as its still the same OS drivng the hardware. The reception issues are very real -- i can make it drop a 3G conection and a call when holding it in my left hand in my house. Though i am on T-Mobile NL which has network issues, anyway.

Samsung Galaxy S, has a screen that competes with the iPhone 4, does 720p recording, even looks like an iPhone lol. Its now on the $49/month optus cap for free. :D

There was a review comparing the reception of the 3gs, iPhone 4 and an HTC phone, using different grips, etc...

Does anyone knows what's the link? can't find it anywhere!
