Ok, perhaps I've been used to see the files from Fujifilm for the past few months, or perhaps it is the new editing technique that deftone2k showed me, or I'm just a happier man these days. Regardless, I am amazed at what the D810 throws out.

There should be a full resolution download available for each of the files. All EXIF data is intact.

I can verify that there is a thermal issue on long exposures. There are hot pixels EVERYWHERE!

Nikon just released a service recall for hot pixel D810's. Seems only a certain serial number range is affected.

Thanks. My serial reports that I need to bring it to Nikon Au.

Didn't they say the same thing initially about the D600 dust/oil problem? :Paranoid:

The clarity in those pics is just brutal (in a good way)

Wish I had the money to outlay so much cash. Still got two Pentax K-5 bodies that don't get as much use as they should.

Savagely sharp, with a blinding level of detail.

Awesome shots, the detail/sharpness/clarity on the D810 is crazy. :o

Do tell what this new editing technique that you/deftone have discovered ;)

Nothing exciting. Mostly not using vscofilm and increasing exposure and pulling back highlights. In the past, I was pulling down down the exposure in post and drawing the shadows up. We also have to do this special kiss together whilst holding hands.

Ah yea, fairynuff. I usually end up pulling back highlights/pumping shadows in post anyways. But I love VSCO so much though haha. 'special kiss', lllooolll .

The following two frames were taken with a D800 I acquired earlier that day (paid $1800). My initial impression of the D800 is that the AF is noticeably slower to confirm than the D810. What this means in real world experience is that there is a slight delay between achieving focus and the camera telling me that it is ready (in AFS mode).

In terms of sharpness and detail, the D810 wins hands down, the D800 doesn't even come near to the previous 18 images. Full resolution versions are available upon clicking on each image.
