Given that The Expanse began life as a setting for an MMORPG then they turned it into a campaign for an RPG and then became an RPG of it's own using the Adventure Game Engine from GRP I must say ...

No. Before that it was the setting for an MMORPG that never eventuated and they turned it into an RPG setting for (I think) D20 Modern) that they used for their own games. I'm not sure "who" but then one said to the other they should write the novels.

 

Fair enough, thought it was originally for pen and paper tabletop, but that was only after the MMORPG idea went no where..

I feel like this came out of nowhere, it looks impressive.

I wonder when this is set in the timeline of the TV Show.

 

An FPS won't have the same level of patience from fans for the typical Owlcat release schedule where they run out of money and have to release the game 2 years early then patch it afterward.

Looks great, but single player pisses me off.

 

While for me it's the only reason I have any interest. Developers are damned if the do and damned if they don't now.

 

Yeh I'm not sure why anyone would want to take the universe that is the expanse and ruin it with xXxBigDickRizzler69xXx showing up in the chat.

 

Hell Yessssss!!!!! Single player works for me. Co-op could work alright

 

If bickdick wants to coop I'm down.

Owlcat say they didn't want to compromise the story telling by replacing important characters with co-op players. I 100% agree with that direction.

Such a shame, not asking for MMO, but at least one friend co-op would be awesome.

I just love the Expanse show.

 

It's rare in that I loved the series as much as the books.. hopefully the trifecta of loving the game as well isn't entirely wishful thinking!

 

According to this 30 minute Dev Interview with the Creative Director, the game's storyline begins alongside the main events at the start of the Books/TV show.
e.g the implications after the destruction of The Canterbury.
