    Alright!!!!!

There was too much non ghetto going on, this is much better.
A few zip ties wouldn't go astray either, or just masking tape wrapped a few times.

Alright time for a bump cos this seems like a vaguely appropriate thread to post what you're about to see.
It's not PC-related or a mod, more of a ghetto repair job, but yeah... some Bunnings suppliers be ghetto af.

So the PCB looks okay at first glance, slightly misplaced components, whatever...

    Whats this about though?

Alright, now that's just taking the piss. Kind of amazed that it works tbh.

Yeah, pretty crap eh? Honestly can't complain too much thoug

So like a dickhead, I fixed it and then decided to pull it apart again to take the above photos of the Dodgy.
Reckon it worked when I put it back together for the second time? lol nah.
Out with the multimeter... one guess where the open-circuit was. Just bang some flux+solder onto it with a too-hot iron, no worries.

    dodgy soldering.jpg

    Honestly, I shouldn't be whinging.
It was quite obviously a cheaply made piece of crap when I bought it years ago, and with just a couple of minor repairs it still works after sitting around in one of my many junk boxes for the best part of a decade. Amazing.

I was looking at your previous pic and thought that the screw might have been completing the circuit :Pirate:

Yep, definitely a major load-bearing component doing double duty as mechanical reinforcement for the electrical system. Should have left the bloody thing alone.
Fixed permanently now though, and I even managed to avoid damaging that last LED on the strip despite not giving a tinker's damn about working carefully.
Although there's probably still a fairly high chance that I'll be posting a whinge about it in a few months time when some other part breaks or a different LED fails or the contacts corrode again. Value!

just browsing and thought my mod might be worthy, for those that haven't seen it.
My case, a Silverstone FT02 has the MB rotated, with the watercooled vid card sitting vertically. This makes it very hard to bleed air out of my watercooled system.
    So...

Power button broke, so I yanked it out and slapped a flip cover over the hole.

The micro switch still works, I just reach in and poke it with my finger.
