Just converted to FF today, everythings great except ff says i need an addon when i see a embedded youtube video on forums. not sure which/where to get an addon for it, can anyone point me in the right spot/addon?

@mr chilled, Must be your colours/theme mate. my winX and FF looks just like the pic @kernelhack posted, inactive tabs all grey like the border/frame colour and active tab is white and obvious.

i went and downloaded the flashplayer from adobe, said it was for firefox, and its installed but still nothing. im on win10 if that makes a difference for flashplayer as win10 isnt an option in the download list os choice.

EDIT: Re-downloaded and now its working... no idea lol.

Not sure, don't they all have vulnerabilities at some point? I'm running the 39.0.3 version now : )

    I'll update eventually.

Hmmm, ok then I'll have another look, maybe it's the combo of colours I have going right now....*shrug*.

Stuff happens :upset:  Probs restarting it might have done the job.

I use Waterfox at work, and prefer it. Unfortunately it's not ported to Linux yet. Apparently Pale Moon is also worth a crack on Windows but ymmv

Looks like it finally got itself sorted out. I get picky software like this all the time....particularly creative drivers. Sometimes have to install, uninstall several times to get them to actually finally work.

The new release 41.0.1 seems to have fixed my colour/theme issues

finally migrating off IE and i want FF to be as minimalist as i'm used to.

is there any way of getting rid of all the default crap in the bookmarks list?

edit ten months later : today i finally found a way to get rid of the last of the things i'll never use.

Go into the Bookmarks tab or ctrl+shift+O and delete whatever you don’t want.

well for me the ctrl+shift+o hotkey does nothing. i assume its supposed to open the bookmarks menu item.

    no shit

i swear when i made this post, and had first tried it, right clicking didn't give the option to delete anything. the delete option was greyed out. since then i dont know what i did to change that but i was able to get some things to delete.

i'm left with only the 'view pocket list' and 'bookmarks toolbar' items in excess of what i'd like to keep.

Anyone got any tips for disabling the "%website% is now fullscreen" popup prompt? I had it disabled a few months ago, and it's come back, currently on Firefox 42. Tried a bunch of tricks online, but nope, bloody thing still pops up.

Is there anyway to get Firefox to play .wav files without trying to load a media player? Opera 6 just used to play the sound as soon as you clicked the link and didn't leave the page you were on. Firefox wants to load a plugin, which then requires me to click the back button to go back to the page I was on.
