43.0.1 out now.
Looks like it's broken a couple of my add ons.
Why would he, this is a Mozilla/Firefox thread.
Yeah 43.0 broke two of mine. I just done the following:
about:config > xpinstall.signatures.required > false
They came back for me. Still working, so I don't know why they for disabled in the first place. I suspect some stupid signing process has been screwed up with versions.
Great tip, thanks, I'll give that a try
Finally! No more captain obvious full screen messages! V43 rocks. Now if only I could sync bookmarks both directions between PC & iOS.
Updated to 43.0.4 now......no major issues. Everything rolling along nicely.
WF 43.0.4 recent build seems "flaky" and some pages aren't loading or are taking a long time to resolve and then render, is anyone else noting this?
I noticed yesterday that there was a time delay of maybe 5 secs between a new tab opening and the page starting to load, but not on all pages. I also hadn't noticed it before yesterday and I think I did the last update (to 43) 2 weeks ago.
What do you guys do regarding FF Hardware Acceleration?
Do you run with HW Acceleration on, or off?
I switched it on after having a few problems with it about 2 or so years ago, but had instant instability again, so have it re-disabled.
I sync bookmarks and settings between my rarely used Windows 10 machine and my numerous Linux machines just fine. Must be an OSX issue?
Tried that - issue seemed slightly worse if anything.
Yup, Mozilla have only just released FF to iPhone, and it operates like a 3 legged pig.
Ah. FF has been out on Android for years, initially I wasn't to keen on it, but now it's matured into a really good browser - Even supports add ons. So the basis is there for a good mobile browser, lets hope they port it all over to Apple soon and get the bugs sorted out.
Either it, or some plugin, is a major battery hog on my phone. Sometimes it is using at much as (on average) 25% cpu usage, which makes the phone slow to respond and quite hot. Every time I use it lately, I'm having to end the app rather than just let it sit in the background.
I have been running Cyberfox this last month and are very impressed with it.
It seems to have a lot more updates coming, is far more stable than WaterFox was being (lot's of pages freezing), faster and has a more advanced right click context menu.
Couple of new versions of FF out recently (up to 48.0.2 now), and have only managed to break just one of my add-ons.....just FDM....but they are normally quick to update
so ten months ago I was switching to FF and i asked in this thread how to make the bookmarks tab as minimalist as possible.
today i finally found a way to get rid of the last of the things i'll never use.
figured i'd recommend it to others.
FF Menu? What's that?
Raren't if ever need to use any menu.
Quick question, Is Free Download Manager still being updated? I didn't realise but it appears my FDM extension has been disabled, probably for a while now.
Latest update seems to be July 18, 2016.
Since about Wednesday Thunderbird keeps on asking for me to enter new password. It will not send my emails until I close down and restart it then it doesn't ask for a password it just sends it.
I've had this issue but my memory is hazy as to how I sorted it.
I suggest checking that your ISP hasn't changed ports or protocols, and then re-entering your server settings as if you're setting it up for the first time.
