It is a touch big :)

Sounds pretty good though. the box is tuned to ~20hz so it likes to shake the walls a little :)

I'd be really interested to hear what you think of the Atmospherix.
I'm thinking of putting a couple of pair of them in my new place for background music. They look like a nice bit of gear.

Absolutely blown away by the audio gear you guys are using - must be a hell of a thing to come home to at the end of a day :)

Anyways my gear pretty much consumer level, work in progress of the setup (same speakers sit at the rear). Getting media centre setup in Windows7:

The ugly cable to the left is going to the 22" monitor... gotta get a 5m DVI cable to do a proper run to the desk. Logitech remote to control the TV, Audio and HTPC.

    -Panasonic 42PX80A
    -Sony DADZ850kw
    -Q6600/p45/4GB/8800GTS/Antec1200/watercooled (its gaming/folding/htpc rig)

Fairly budget setup but extremely happy with the result.

The centrix can support the 50" panasonic? I got the same TV and was looking at the same center speaker (and was looking at putting it on top).

Yer easily. I'm not sure what the official ratings are for max TV weight (I don't think they are published), but its a very solid unit and appears to handle the TH-50PZ800A weight (approx 42KG) without any issues. Two of my friends have Pioneer 50" Plasmas (KURO PDP-508XDA which is approx 35.2KG) sitting on top of a Centrix for around a year now and there have been no problems.

Of note, it appears there is a new Krix Centre channel speaker being officially released tomorrow: Vortex. It's been designed to match the Harmonix and is $1200rrp in timber veneer (so obviously a step up over the Centrix...which is approx $600 or less in timber veneer for cash).

    Regards,

    Bester

Nice I might have to pop into my local Krix supplier and pick up some Centrix for cheap :D

How much you get the Centrix for if you don't mind me asking.

Yeah $600 (black ash timber veneer) was the price I was given without bargaining (which seems OK I guess). Krix told the store it was going to be 14 days delivery from order, and then it rocked up the next day lol (not that I'm complaining).

i have my 50" pana sitting on my paradigm cc690 and it has been working a treat for the past 12 months - was the only way i could avoid having to get a custom cabinet made up!

having said that, i notice that the newer pana 50"s have a smaller stand than my mid-2007 pana, so the weight of a new model pana would not be as spread out as it is with mine, whose stand is pretty much exactly the size of the cc690...although it would probably still work just fine...

*edit* oops...epicentrix is the big one same size as mine...i see that the centrix is smaller...you are brave, i was hesitant with my setup, looking at that photo i wouldn't have been game :)

In all seriousness, it's fine. For official confirmation though, I have emailed Krix and will update with results.

This is the official response from Krix:

"The Centrix will certainly be able to support this weight - no problems - it was designed with this in mind. The cabinet construction sees the front and back panels rebated into the main body of the cabinet. This is a very strong form of construction, but there is also a large brace that runs from the centre of the top panel to the bottom panel.

We have had over 250 kilos sitting on a cabinet here at the factory, so you would be fine in placing your TV on top of the Centrix".

    Regards,

    Bester

I'd much rather see the printer fall off onto the bouncy ball and then slam into the cat.

Man you put so much crap on your HT gear.

edit: I'd pull the drawers out and put more shit in those spaces :D

lol the printer is just a temporary setup as I needed to print something out, have had the printer still in the cupboard from when I moved. The cat on the otherhand just lays wherever the fuck it likes... gets in behind the xbox and plays with the cords, lays under the tv or sits infront of it... I'm so glad I have setup so many pretty things for her to lounge about on.

May as well get in on this action. Recently moved everything into the other lounge room, as we decided we needed a leather couch

Here's some pics of my new Pioneer LX609A. Arrived yesterday, definitely the best picture I have yet to see. The blacks really are black! I love it. Got a new jarrah cabinet coming for it next week, and then its speaker and amp upgrade time... :D
