Why firmware update out of interest? Is it an refresh rate unlock?

Correct, there was a bug with g sync and it would only go up to a certain amount, the firmware update corrected gysnc to fully function and dropped the monitors input lag as well.

Lowers input latency to something very low, making it one of the best monitors.

    Never seen your issue before.

I would think downgrading or reflashing your monitor would help, but it doesn't look like the software supports this which is disappointing.

LG surely has a way to do this that isn't showing to consumers, maybe you can convince them to help you do this rather then send it back.

You may be right, there is an option to "open file" perhaps if i can locate the previous firmware?
Funnily enough the issue will disappear when i first turn my PC on after being off for a while.

10 mins once logged in, it slowly creeps back.

Near OLED quality without OLED is impossible.

My LG 34GK950F-B looks amazing though, way better then anything I've seen.

My 1080 runs it very well.

Photos of backlight never work on a phone due to auto settings.

All I can say the backlight is not noticeable unless its on a black screen, and even then its quite small.

The thing to remember is that backlight bleed etc on an ultrawide much less of an issue because of how far away to the sides it is.

Sent it back and getting a full refund plus the shipping cost, and opted out for a replacement.
The fail-rate seems quite high on this panel, Reddit is full of them.

LG Support were also unhelpful and requested it to be returned.

Expensive lesson, hopefully it's released locally soon.

So a full refund except for the cost to send it back to the USA?

Its a shame LG don't have international warranty.

The company i bought through Amazon were kind enough to refund my shipping fee too.

I'm out of pocket for the freight forwarding shipping + GST & import fees.

Wonder if i can get the GST refunded?

That is really nice of that company. You should be able to get your GST refunded I would imagine.

Its a shame Amazon are so strict with shipping to Australia from 3rd party sellers, it seems like you would have had a refund in full if that was the case.

I wonder with the whole gsync thing what will happen with this monitor......

Like the XV273 vs the XB273, $750 extra for the gsync version (despite the fact that the freesync version also has gsync now), wonder how well the gsync version is selling.....
