Err ok... If this is going to be a new standard, perhaps one might be inclined to create a format for creating such threads. Maybe something along the lines of Event/Location/Topic dd/mm [number of images] ie WA Wildflowers 12/01 [11] Thoughts?
I have spoken to the ugbox lads about something very similar. Basically using the ugbox imagestore system, when uploading a photo you can choose from pre-defined categories that your photo fits into. Example : Macro. So the process would be : - Uploading the photo, selection macro. - Posting a thread in here "Macro photo : Moth", or something. The plus side of this is that ugbox are going to have a look at coding a photo gallery made up of photos submitted from here. So you could go and select "Macro photos from OCAU" whereby the query would select every photo uploaded within the macro category and display them. That way, when uploading to ugbox, you could select "OCAU general photography" as a category and we instantly have an OCAU photography gallery to display all our work. Your thoughts?
i was thinking about something like Gallery or even something like dPhoto or Deviant Art but it got me thinking. There are enough places like that existing all over the net, so we should just keep the system that we have now (well, the new system that Admiral proposed). I think it works well now, being intergrated into the forum, i dont think it would work as well being a seperate enity. A bit like the PCDB - i almost never go there, but i like to look at people's mods when they post them in the Modding forum. People should just have a post in the Photography forum where they can display all their current photos, or even link to their own Gallery type setups (like mine here). My 2 cents
