Was going through OLD photos and starting to scan them and I found the negatives from my Old Kodak instamatic and the negatives of the Queens Visit to Adelaide. I've got to do some research to find out the exact year this was taken but it would have been mid 70s when I was in Primary School

This one just begged a caption to be added. Here I was thinking it was Rude to point

The outfit the queen is wearing and the two ladies in the backgroud almosty look like they're from the 50's.

But since we're talking about Adelaide, it's probably the late 70's :p

    /me ducks.

Judging by your second pic (and indeed the first) it was taken on her visit to Adelaide in February 1963, as you can see by the Radio Rentals and Bank of New South Wales signs in the background. That is not how the logos of RR and BNSW looked in SA in 1977.

And the clothing the women are wearing indicates 1963 as well. Perhaps these were your father's pics or something from that decade that you mistook for yours?

but why is Dunstan there? I can't find any reason for him to be with the Queen in 63, while in 77 he was the Premier (though this only from wikipedia)

    LOL

Anyway, great find, great photos. They do look like they were taken from the perspective of a kid (or your parent crouching down). I've never seen a colour photo of Don Dunstan in those hotpants, what a shame he wasn't wearing them that day to escort the Queen ;)

Well my memory might be bad but it isnt that bad. We had a school trip down to watch the Queen go past and I took my Kodak Instamatic. It was defintely in the Mid 70s as that was when I was in Primary School.

Also the photo is taken in Rundle mall and that only became a mall in 1976

Fat Tie, Wide Collar def 70's.

Great Find. I cant remember the visit though, and I'm the right vintage to have gone. Must have been a "jubilee" visit, to celebrate 25 yrs
