I've got a Vive. I consider Arizona Sunshine (paid) to be a 'must look at' along with Overload, they're both awesome. One rung below that, Space Pirate Trainer and Gorn.

Added it to the list as a indi title.
Added a Anime games section are a few are are designed for VR, they have character makers which you can create your own characters and pose and go into VR with them and if you want do eroge (sex with them)

I wanted to keep bigger full featured mainstream and smaller games seperate in a wa so people can pm me etc and let me know what will work with game categorized as I have NFI.

With a lot of trash indi VR games out there which seems to hide the more polished fuller featured games (needle in a haystack) thought this thread would be useful for those to find the gems as VR games don't get as much hype as standard games do.
Especially when one just puts down $600 Rift / $1500+ HTC & Index they want a good first impression rather than some random game that's not that great.

I'll have to get around to trying Overload when I get my Rift S as loved the Decent and other similar games Terminal Velocity, Hellbender and Forsaken though hardly finished most of those games.
    Space Pirate looks interesting also.

If you liked Descent you'll like Overload, it's a barely updated version of the same game, done by the same developers. It works really well on the Vive. Space Pirate Trainer is very basic but it's solid fun... it makes good use of full room tracking.

And these are just the good or ones woth trying I found amongst the thousands of not that good Indy VR games.

I always thought of VR as a market flooded with not that good Indy (short, basic, not good looking) or student games, especially at conventions they showcase said games, so getting one created this thread.

The Index is very new so I doubt there will be second hand for a long time.

You could always get a starter headset.

Anyway for people reading what other games are you playing and show some screenshots.

Been mucking around with Rift S in No Mans Sky. It's fun times. The price points of the 'experiences' on oculus are hurting me. Will be waiting for sales.

ive never been able to invest a great amount of time into a play session, so games like no mans sky are a no go for me, 1/2-1 hour max and im done.

You need to add Vader Immortal to that list, awesome graphics and good ease game play and the Dojo give alot more play time that will make you sweat.

i also think its time for a sub section to be added to Games for VR, and a VR Hardware section is needed. #Agg

Added it to the Indy section.
Can't just be a VR section but combined AR also.
I can't wait for AR to take off more like Sword Art's movie Ordinal Scalel.

I imagine first AR that will be mainstream is Pokemon Go AR, put glasses on and go about your life and Pokemon will actually show up in the real world to catch.

For now back to VR games and software.

I"m the same these days. Its a combination of just wanting to relax after I get home from work, and also being too busy to devote regular time to only VR, compared to regular PC gaming where I can multitask while playing, you can't in VR unfortunately.

I've been using my Pimax for Payday 2, Beat Saber, elite dangerous and playing "6k videos"

AR has been pretty bad so far. Pokemon GO could have been so amazing if it was just literally multiplayer pokemon, but live where you can see all the pokemon trainers and wild pokemon around you.

So far every AR is just a terrible copy of the same idea that is you walk around and grind things.

Minecraft Earth looks interesting but it looks like its friends only, not public viewing.

They're are a few game lists with games to try I've been going through like this one that lists 100 games.

We need some screenshots in here of VR games you all are playing and what VR software your using.

I'll be adding some when my headset gets here but you do should also.

    Vive w/ wireless.

Wireless works pretty well in my space, only have about a 2.5*1.5 space currently, but havnt noticed any lag/tracking problems at all, and the battery for it is just a QC3.0 USB so will get a 10k mah xiaomi/anker for way more play time. (about 3-4hrs currently)

Arizona sunshine - the best generic FPS shooter to try out, low motion sickness (teleport movement)
beat saber - srsly dont get the hype, if it was your own tunes itd rock but meh to most of it.
blade & sorcery - swords/axes/bows/daggers/shields etc, telekinesis, lightning powers, slow mo......this is the best with the wifi setup, motion sickness if you use the ingame movement a lot rather than run around the play space.
GORN - kiddy version of the above, no magics, movement method is easy to do.
I Expect You To Die - sit down in a chair and do bond style villain escape things, great for a play through.
Duck Season - sadistic story if you pay attention to the kids life, multi ending
    Pavlov - VR csgo
onward - VR arma2, epic hard, epic motion sickness if you run around a lot.
superhot VR - epic game, so frustrating but so good.
Payday 2 - barely played so far, seemed buggy but possibly awesome
Rick and morty: virtual rick-ality - good for the younger crowd

On the motion sickness front, I'm fine on them all now, just remembering when i first played them the few that made me go ergh feeling dizzy/vertigo IRL.

Pick of the above is blade & sorcery, if you have VR and havnt got it yet...shame....

Beat Saber is great if you have beatdrop installed. There are mods to the game that make it enjoyable.

Robo Recall is a AAA title made by Epic for Oculus.

Well shit, ill give it a better shot now.

Still pathetic compared to just putting on your own tunes and slaughtering hordes in blade&sorcery :p
