I played one by accident, won the first hand then quit it - 0 interest.

I initially had no interest in Gwent but as I played more and got some nice cards, the game grabbed me. It has a nice amount of strategy though with a strong Northern Realms set currently I'm finding every game to be a slaughter.

Velan as a region is so massive. I need to go to Skillege but cbf because i want to go get all the bloody markers done first :tired:

EDIT: Same on Gwent. 1st game confused me and i cbf focusing, then played again and it's not bad. Bought some cards at vendors and now it's a bit more enjoyable

Dice relied on too much random chance to be a game of skill that the game (Witcher) implied it being. Gwent on the other hand makes little sense as well. It's more like those Tazo things back in the 90's where your hero's face is on it and you can play a game with it. Still loving it tho, but my Northern Realms deck is just OP.
I just wish when you play for hero cards that you have something at stake too. Money or another card even, it just seems one sided and takes all the thrill of gambling out of it.

70+ hours in and I'm at level 11 and maybe 17% through the game.

Haha so true! It's like an OCD'ers worst nightmare! They just keeping popping up too with random quests from the bulletin boards. That's not to mention the random encounters to drag you off onto another little side quest while your in the middle of doing another side quest. ARRGGGGHHH!!!!

You can see the hours on the character screen... Default keys are K and then C I think.

I'm the opposite, I just go to all the boards and grab everything. I've pretty much cleared most of the first map then onto Skellie.

In between I do main missions, contracts etc. Main thing, never bored.

Are you like strolling everywhere? Is that how you have so many hours and a low level?

I am struggling to stay a lower level so I can complete everything. I only have about 25hrs logged and think I am at level 13

Probably been asked before but a tough question to search for: if I'm not really into RPGs is this game still worth a go?

closest I can compare this to if pressed is Dragon Age Inquisition or maybe even Skyrim.

It's very much an action RPG though.

It's more like Skyrim than Dragon Age, and probably more similar to slightly older RPGs like morrowind.
