Tiny ARM PC's as Server replacement - RPI2 and ODROID

    Got a Odroid C2 with the HiFi shield, running LibreElec. Very snappy now, and x265s play properly, and CEC works finally. Very happy with it.

    It's ARM64, so it gets sketchy about distro support. You can get ARM64 Gentoo, Arch, etc but they don't have ARM64 Kodi packages.

    Is the Xu4 the same thing but faster then the c2 and 32bit? Would kodi be available then?

    I have a RPI3 (powered from the USB on my modem) + a 5TB external drive connected to it via USB.

    I run Plex on it, have turned off transcoding and the only issue I've had is with 4K content.


    Those ASUS tinkerboards sure are enticing but then at that price you'd be better off buying an ex corporate desktop. Yes it will use more power but the extra performance would justify it.

    There is a Youtube channel called MickMake he does a weekly roundup of all sorts of maker products, many of them a Pi alternatives or accessories for such, well worth a look it. There is a lot out there.
