Anyone flown etihad to paris before? Was going to fly qantas/emirates but they bumped their prices up by $300 for when I want to fly and i dont think ill have enough money in time to get the cathay premium economy deal for $3500ish (ends 31st march)
As I said before I often get upgraded and I fly wearing a t-shirt jeans and trainers. I see people in first dressed worse than that. Everyone looks the same when you are wearing the PJ's anyway. IF you belong in business first isnt much of a change.
Some airlines myths, apparently dubunked.... http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/trave...-flights-exposed/story-fnjjv796-1226858118338
I don't know about other SA members (they have so many) but LH has 3 levels: Frequent flyer: 50,000 miles in each of 2 consecutive years Senator: 120,000 or 100,000 (depending where you live) miles in each of 2 consecutive years HON Circle: 500,000 miles within 2 years
No they don't? They sell the empty seats to staff rather than leaving them empty. Upgrading someone who has already paid for a seat makes the airline no additional moola. Fwiw the staff benefits are good.
Correct it adds no additional money to the airline in the short term.. That is Qantas right there. short term thinking.
You have read my comment out of context. I was replying to someone else explaining why they don't give free upgrades to high tier frequent flyers.
When I was Qantas Gold I had several Qantas upgrades by asking on check-in and a couple on Cathay at the gate. Now, due to not travelling much I'm lucky to maintain Silver
With Qantas, you get X status points each flight (X is dependent on flight distance and ticket class) - http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/status-credits To get a status level, you need. 300 for silver 700 for gold etc. in a year. to keep you need a similar but smaller number... http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/privileges
i got given Qantas Gold FF status about 4 months ago i'm lucky to fly anywhere once a year it expires in November this year , so i'm planning on making at least one or two trips just to use the lounge i still can't figure out why they gave it to me the only thing i can think of is that my credit cards are linked to my QFF membership, and my cc gets a fair workout every month
most likely it got gifted to you by a friend or family member, also I cant confirm when I can buy my tickets back to France as I need to wait till my uni timetable comes out on the 7th of April
if that's the case, they haven't told me about it i don't really know anyone that flies that much i also didn't know you could gift that sort of status to people?
Just looked at Vietnam Airlines to fly from Sydney to Paris Economy there and Paris to Sydney Business back for $2683.26, this is very very tempting!
Another article on Flight upgrades....most seems fairly obvious and known already. "Flight upgrades and discounts: How to sweet talk your airline representative to get what you want" http://www.news.com.au/travel/trave...et-what-you-want/story-fn6yjmoc-1227016326374

I think getting hung up on getting free flights is not worth your time or effort. Tip 1) Dont fly without frequent flyers, at some point you'll end up getting something free (whether it be spending your points on a webber bbq like me thats fine) Tip 2) Dont worry about dressing in a suit and pretending your a doctor for free upgrades, just be comfortable and it might happen or might not.
