Ok this is visually stunning, but absolutely canes the video card. Im runing on old gen stuff though (2600k/970GTX/16gb). Might finally be time for an upgrade.

Only one real bugbear, and that is the cutscenes being letterboxed:

That might be fixed by release though.

Other than that, anyone remember this?

    I miss the snow :(

Seems to be Division, got up to level 3 (lol) before multiple disconnects from the server made me quit for the night.

Have you tried the render resolution? It appears to be using a form of checkerboard rendering and that might help your performance.

so far my 2080ti @1440p ultra 110-120fps outside/144 inside (hitting fps cap)… tried dx11/12 not a huge difference, dx12 did feel a little smoother. Did run into an issue after a mission where my GPU was sitting at 50% usage.. a game restart resolved it.

Choppy performance with 1080p with "high" settings

Dropped it down to "medium" with frame limiter / 60fps vsync, a little smoother but still choppy.

DX11/12 didn't seem to do anything.

Then that massive lag spike kicked in and everyone dropped from the server. Then it's been network / disconnects from that point on.

keep at high preset but drop the render resolution to 75% or 50%. it won't look drastically different cos YAY for checkerboard rendering :D

I wonder whether this was my issue, it suddenly got very choppy whereas it was smoother beforehand.

More like massive frame rate drops with constant stuttering.
Wonder whether it was the card overheating. Should run some logging.

Restarting the game with a 30min break resolved it all.
Turned that off too and it improved further.

I dunno mate.. This is my exact spec. I hope this guy just had something wrong.. 2560x1440 with 8700k and 1080ti and on ultra was in 40s at points outside averaging maybe 50-60fps.

    This guy has better performance

Played for an hour last night, ah there's that old, comfortable pair of shoes I'd missed. Feels just like The Division 1 but without snow. I'm not sure on the new skills yet, I'm only level 3.. tried the turret which does decent damage really but the cooldown is quite long. Gunplay feels much like Div1... though it does feel like the 'scale' is a touch smaller than Div1? i.e. enemies feel about 10% smaller to me to make the landscape feel larger and more spacious. Running on an 8600K @5GHz and a 1080 at 1440 resolution, the game sat largely around 60-80 fps with stuff at high/ultra. Looks great, sounds good as you'd expect from the SnowDrop engine. The only real complaints I have are that enemy animations can be a touch janky and the interface (like Div1) seems to have a console based design.

Played again this morning, solid 50fps outside. According to reddit there is a bug that causes a slow down in long game sessions, that was probably what i hit.

People on reddit with a 1080Ti reporting 80+ FPS @ 1440P ultra. Early days yet, but confirmed memory leak and when it hits, dips to 30 FPS.

We still haven't reached the level of Division 1 E3 gameplay video.

    Maybe Division 3.

Div 1 pushed the consoles REAL hard, Div 2 has to run on potatobox (XB1 OG) so yeah not gonna be much better than this sadly.

I get 80fps+ on division 1 I imagine ultra will see 70s but I'm happy to drop to high to hold 90+
