Tracking down zombie processes.

    Just install openvpn and use that instead of their shitty client

    I used to use openVPN, it was never as reliable as their own client software. TBH, I'm actually quite impressed they support Linux as well as they do.

    Interesting. I've had good success with OpenVPN, although high throughput it certainly is not.

    Well, good news.

    After updating the PIA VPN software all zombie processes related to that package have been resolved! There is still one other zombie process totally unrelated to PIA's software, but I am glad that's rectified. Furthermore, the updated software is actually quite good.
