I'm looking at one of these for my home network. Have got major issues with crowding due to being in a multi high rise development and my ISP issued router isn't coping.

Does it require a controller or can it run independently and be configured via web ui? Anyone used this brand/model at home? Experiences?

It can be run independently but the controller is easy enough to spin up and is free.

My experience was the controller gave me better performance and more configurability - being able to steer hosts to 5GHz etc.

I believe there is no web interface, but they can be individually configured with the smartphone app.
