:( Has anyone run a K6-2-500Mhz in a super socket 7 board, at 4.5 multiplier x100Mhz frontside? This sounds crazy, but when your board only multiplies to 4.5x and no bastards have any cheap k6-2-450's ya gotta get desperate hey! So what gives? Is it possible and will the chip be very sluggish?

Yeah, it'll work. The K6's are not multiplier loacked at all.
I've done it to compare it to the K6-III+ in benchmarks and ran without a hiccough. Of course, it won't be as fast as a 500, it'll b exactly as fast as a K6-2 450 :) You might even get away with 2.1V to keep it a little cooler too. Try it and if you have stability issues, bump it back up to 2.2V
