Slow as when it comes to throttling an account.

Mate of mine clocked up an extra 21GB over his cap before they throttled his dl speed.

That was on his off peak time.

He only managed an extra 1 GB over his cap on his peak time before he got completely throttled.

I'm noticing a marginal slow down now... not enough to effect normal usage at all though. ie, my max download speed has dropped from 600kb/s to about 400kb/s

If this is the extent of it, I'll be happy

I'm finding it weird adjusting to the usage metering though. I'm very used to iiNet updating almost immediately whereas I've been told TPG only do it once per day. So it's telling me I've done nothing so far haha

Currently on the 150gb plan which will reset on the 25th, already paid for the same plan for next month. Would it be possible to upgrade the unlimited plan and pay the extra money and have it come into effect on the 25th? Or will i have to wait till the month after.

Upgrade now (22nd) and it will go through today or tomorrow.

They will charge you the new fee and refund pro rata the remainder from your previous plan (Which according to you will be the full amount).

TPG's IPTV has a Malaysian channel. What's the name of this station?

Yes, I did use Google before I posted my question. I knew it's RTM but they have two stations and two digital channels. So four channels all up.

    Off peak is 3:30 - 8:30 though

Whether you want, like or have even heard of TPG, there is no doubt that at the moment they are doing every internet consumer in Australia a favour by helpint to push down prices across all ISP's.

I honestly don't think I'd make use of the unlimited plan to be worth the extra $6 a month... is tempting though just for UNLIMITED :p

Already had 2 free upgrades since I first signed on in about 6 months... now on 100/100g which is pretty good.
Share with brother and housemate who are both heavy users.
We are struggling to use all that these days... just download more 720p TV eps though I guess so thats not such a bad thing.

Service has been pretty good, latency in games is good, we've had a few drop outs over the months we've had it but overall it's been pretty solid.

Only issue at the moment is if any PC on the network is running utorrent the http connectivity goes to absolute shit. That is even with throttled down/upload in the client. Never had this issue before, only if the upload was bouncing off the limit. (Could possibly be router related though as it was changed while I was away on holidays for a few months as the old one pooped itself)

yeah mate it will be your router. It is the number of connections that torrents soak up that causes the router to kinda poop itself. Look into QoS'n torrent traffic :)

Wish TPG would upgrade their backhaul in my area.

Don't really care about extra quota, but annoying slowdowns during peak times makes me yearn for a better connection...

Its our previous router and its a pile of shit... we really need to just stop being cheap and buy a decent one.

It's some old Dlink and the port forwarding is horrendous. I'm pretty sure that's why we got a new one in the first place.

It's not that big a deal really, torrents are now only active in offpeak which is 3:30am-8:30am so sleeping time for the household.

Are the TPG slowdowns only with ADSL 2 or ADSL 1 as well

ADSL 2+ here and we don't get any slowdowns... I believe we'd be on the Yeronga exchange.
