Just a question ive never thought about?? ive got a Xonar u7 USB audio thingy-mi-jig sitting in its box, and was wondering if using that would be better than using the onboard audio card on my 5,1 Mac pro?

Will that offload the cpu a bit? will it sound better?

nfi why i bought it, at least a few years ago...

    Are these any good?

    Will not offload the CPU

Is probably technically better in some cases, however IIRC Macs generally are renown for better than average sound so it may not actually be hugely apparent in this circumstance.
