USB WiFi solution

The father-in-law needs a cheap wifi solution for his old Dell. He has just had the NBN installed and the modem is across the other side of the house.

Now the old Dell does not have a wifi card so I was considering recommending him a USB Wifi solution. PCIE is not an option.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Any recommendations? Was looking at the Archer T9UH AC1900 in particular.

 

The smaller TP link ones have worked fine for me also, and are only the size of a flashdrive.

Windows 10 support, no drivers needed. Works fine inside my house. No issues anywhere

If the machine is that old, I'd go with a cheap adaptor and see how you go. Officeworks have a great returns policy so I would start with the cheap one and see how you go ($27!):

Plan B: Ethernet over power.

Plan C: For $90 for an adaptor you're getting close to the cost of a professionally installed fixed ethernet cable.
