    Spent a few weeks in Vanuatu early this year, it was great to actually get to know the people of this country. Here are a selection of shots I took during our stay there, for some reason the shots look a lot cooler in IE than what I thought after processing in LR2.2 any thoughts or tips on this? C&C as always appreciated ;-)

    Yeah, all of those photos are fantastic dude. You might want to consider getting them published in a holiday brochure or something

    Some really great shots there, nice composition and a really good reflection of the people (loved 26 - shame about the foot!). My only criticism would be that the set looks ultra-high contrast, and doesn't feel completely natural. Not sure if that was a result of some very bright days or your PP style and the 'shadows' slider though. Still, a fantastic set :) Well done.

    Loved em :) Looks like a beautiful place. The blue water looks especially amazing on a hot day like today!! The only one I didn't like was #27, the chick on the left looks like she's seen something disgusting in the water and the lady on the right looks like she has an evil guilty look on her face :Paranoid:

    Number 15, her tag's hanging out!!:eek::D

    Number 20, I keep going back too.
    It's just as cheap to go to Vanuatu than to the Gold Coast these days. I'm trying to save the pennies this year to take the wife and kids.

    Thanks for all the nice comments, I agree the pictures are very contrasty, I personally like them that way but I don't think the monitor I am working on is the best and as such they may look a bit over the top on other screens ;-)

    Shot 4 was a bit of a fluke. I noticed the guy was fisihing for some dinner and I wanted to get a couple of shots with him and his catch, just as I took the shot he tripped slightly and I got lucky with this shot ;-)

    Shot 5 is part of about 80 odd shots I took that particular afternoon, the local kids were having a great time jumping of the reef into the surf, I was sitting quite a way away with my 100-400 and was enjoying the show they were putting on.

    This made me laugh haha. Ok here's the story. We went to a river with our friends for the day, lots of strange things went on that day, amongst other things a picnic that had fruit bat as the main attraction, however this particular photo the 'woman' on the right, who is actually a man and chief of one of the villages :D decided it would be funny to get a matt of moss from the bottom of the riverbed. He the proceeded to put this on his head and have a good laugh about it. The chick on the left, my gf, was quite disgusted by the smell of the moss, all up a very funny situation and the main reason why I selected it. It's not technically great but it shows off the great sense of humour vanuatus people have.

    Sure, just pm me your email address and which one you want.

    I opened the thread thinking: arg, I'm wasting my bandwidth on crappy holiday shots, but man, I'm glad I did. Some fantastic work there, ranging from damn good to fantastic.

    Thanks for sharing :)

    Thanks for reminding me how much I enjoyed Vanuatu when I was there. Great people, fantastic scenery, wonderful diving, and sensational food.

    Love the fisherman shot, I must go back...
