I just tried a few things at 1.2v, couldn't boot at 3200 everything auto. Booted at 3000 C19 defaults. Didn't even bother trying anything with them. I tried 1.35v @ 3200 C16 and booted straight away. I checked my watt-meter between the two voltages there's nothing in it power consumption wise, turning a fan speed up uses more power. These sticks don't get extremely hot at 1.5v let alone 1.35v. At idle they're a cool 25c on the heat spreader.

I think this ram is a great deal, cheapest B-die, but now at $160 it presents slightly less value than some 3200 C16 kit for $140 running at 1.35v XMP. The good part is it has room to play with, if you ever decide to.

I was able to get 3200c16 working at 1.2v and passed TM5. But my MB does overvolt to 1.236v according to sensors.
I played around with undervolting and was able to get the system to drop under 60w idle down from ~70-80w with the biggest drop in power coming from dropping the RAM speed to 3200.
All the V tuning made very little difference to idle power use but may have had a effect on load.

Thanks for all the valuable feedback in this thread.
I'm amazed how power consumption increases with ram speed increase - I guess increasing the IF requires considerably more power.

It is not that the increase in clock speed uses more power. It is just that something hidden in the BIOS changes the moment you go one step over 3200 so that the SOC power use jumps from ~2w to ~7w and from there all the way up to 4000 only goes up by another 0.5w including the extra v required.

Finally got around to testing the other vipers I ordered off Amazon, 1 kit is better, 1 kit worse. The better kit does 3800 C14 1T stable @ 1.55v, whereas my kit did not like anything at 1T. Still waiting on my 4th kit to be delivered from a mate. Not sure if I'll go 32GB as this stage, need to go 4x8GB and see what happens.

Very happy with this kit, think I've settled on this for now and daily it, until I get 4000 dialed in.

Thank you all for your help on this stuff, I was a total ram newb and now I feel much more confident but still don't know 100% what I'm doing haha but it's fun to experiment and see what happens.

Latency much better but still a bit off 50ns, this is normal windows mode btw, might try diagnostic for fun.

Some more testing, can't seem to get TM5 1usmus_V3,cfg to work for me, "completes" after ~9min, very strange.... started using the dram calc memtest instead.

    upload_2021-8-24_18-1-18.png upload_2021-8-24_18-1-50.png

Latency down to 52.5, needs more stability testing.

    upload_2021-8-24_17-58-27.png

Another go with tCL16 netted a latency of 52.1... best yet, but within margin of error for this test.

Nice board, does very well with Zen3!

I'll try some 4x8 action tomorrow with dasa2 settings from an earlier page, might need that little nugget cmdaddress 56 ;)

Been playing with performance per watt settings for the fun of it which means trying to get the most out of it at 3200 with the next step being a nudge to BCLK.
This just passed TM5 and is under 60ns.

Given up on 3200, won't be using it anyway, going 3800, this is were I'm at and testing.

Can you drop tFAW to 16? tRRDS/DL 4? (or 2 if you can)

Testing out your settings dasa2 .. trying with low volts, not happening though, getting errors, may need to go to higher.

One of my kits could do that speed with far less V than the other.
Although it is set to 1.54V the MB reports it as 1.56VDIMM.
Your system may or may not also need more V to the memory controller.

Nice that it boots, What errors are you getting?
Do love how close copy bandwidth gets to Read with those settings.

I'm getting different errors, I think the last lot were #13. Yeh these kits are mismatched also... not sure what they need to do 4000 1T, seems Addrcmdsetup 56 changes these things... trying without it.

Settling on 2T, need more testing at this speed but so far very happy with the results... between 1T with addrcmdsetup 56 , GDM and 2T, 2T has come out on top as best performing.
