Honestly the easiest way is to get fiancee / marriage visa

$800 is how much it cost me and my wife. We looked at the skilled migrant visa and really just got married cause it was cheaper.

We probably would have gotten married anyway.

She was here for 4 years on a 457 visa for skilled migrant work from japan

What year was this? What was the visa type number? Are you sure it is a marriage/partner visa? It sounds about $4000 too cheap.

Marrige / Prospective spouse is about ~$2k all up, including the adjusted costs if you do prospective and switch over once you are married.

Wife was given her PR around June this year after pretty much 2 years on the prospective spouse / married visa (Partner 820 Class)
