    Name of recipe
    Vodka Jelly Shots

    Notes/description
A delicous (and intoxicating) jelly shot, perfect for parties and desserts.

    Ingredients Required
Jelly Crystals - any flavour. Orange, pinapple, and strawberry works well.
    Vodka - Prefer absolut vodka.

    Equipment Required
    Freezer
    Bowl
    Spoon
    Measuring Cup
Shot glasses, ice cube tray, or small cups.

    Instructions
Following the instructions on the back of the Jelly crystals packet boil a kettle with water. Empty contents of Jelly crystal packet into bowl. The Jelly packet will tell you how much water to add to the crystals. Fill the measuring cup with HALF this amount with the boiled water. The other half of the amount, fill with vodka. Mix well. Pour the contents of the bowl into either shot glasses, ice cube trays, or small cups. Put these into the freezer (not fridge), and leave to set. Once the jelly sets, serve cold.

    Options
Experement with the ratio of Vodka to Water. I found a 50/50 mix to be quite nice. Straight Vodka is too much (I did try 70/30, and that was too much), and I am not sure if it will set properly.

    ENJOY! :)

    Joe.

I'll have to have another go at these.

Last time they turned out a bit runny. Didn't put them in the freezer :(

On a similar note, anyone tried Vodka, lemonade and lemon juice?
I guess it's a bit like a Stoli, but we used to make this when still at school in 1990.

    LOL! I don't know about being a God, but thanks Goa^uld :)

Wojee, did you add water as well? And yes, freezer is a must. Notice how vodka doesn't freeze when you put it in the freezer? So it'll have no chance of setting if put in a fridge.

(waiting for a scientist type to prove me wrong :D)

Cool!! I will try them out!!

    Have you tried the VodkaMelon!

All you require to do is:

Find a nice juicy Melon. Cut a small hole on the top! See if you can drain the melon fluid out and pour in vodka in it!!

But best result. Get a big mixing bowl, scoup out the read part from the melon and put it into the mixing bowl and make sure the melon is empty..

Get a blender or the hand blender and fuck the pink bits out in the bowl and add vodka as you go. When done. Nice and smooth. put it back into the melon.

Make some holes in the melon. Big enough for straws. You can your girlfriends can share it!

    It's quite nice here.

Here's an alternative method to dicey's method but takes quite a bit time to prepare.

Get yourself a large watermelon 4-5+kg. Elongated one's work best

Then find a large needle/syringe - Pulp Fiction style. It helps if you know someone in the medical profession. I've also had luck getting these from a vet as well. 20cc and up is what you want.

Now first prepare the watermelon by pricking a few holes on top.
The idea is to inject vodka into the melon. I've found putting about 12 air holes first then start injecting the vodka into a new set of holes. You will find air starts coming out of the other holes. Too much vodka too fast will cause the melon juice to come out. Patience is needed. No need to roll the melon, just do it from the top area. About half a bottle is good for one large melon.

Now place a tea towel over melon to stop seepage. A little water will gradually come out over the day or so that it is left sitting on the kitchen bench. Place in fridge for another day. Cut and serve as normal. Yuuuuummmmy

    Great for 18th's and 21st's.

Hehe, these things are brilliant, for some reason they seemed to hit me harder than vodka normally did, perhaps its the way the body digests it since psycologically it doesnt really feel like you are drinking alcohol :o)

I remember last semster of uni we would make these every thursday arvo before we went down to the uni bar which had cheap drinks, made for many a intoxicated night :o)

Tee Hee, yes water was added, but only refrigerated. My wife actually made them, and reckoned she'd done it that way before.

Actually, the idea behind jelly isn't to actually freeze it, but the gelatin sets making it firm. I guess the lower freezing point of alcohol means it needs some help from the freezer to set.

if you wanted more vodka in it, try adding gelatine to the mix.
You will find it in a little box in the flour isle of the supermarket. But be careful not to add too much as it may result in a very rubbery product.
