You don't include info as to whether anyone attending will be given prints of any size of the photos taken, or whether they'll just get JPEGs, or RAW files (of any size). Will the photos be taken by professional photographers - like the event instructors - or the workshop attendees?

To me it seems like a bit of a shameless cash grab on the back of the glamour workshop, but I suppose I'm not your target market. ;)

I hate to agree with such sharp tongue'd comments but I'll have to.

$50 for a shot of a car doesn't really help anyone. For $50 it couldn't be good and all it does is serve to devalue the work of serious automotive photographer's.

Wait, so your paying us $50 to take photos of our rides, or are we to pay you $50 for photos of our rides?

So is this for the people attending the Workshop, or for anyone.

Who is the pro that will be taking the shots?

Maybe this would be more appropriate in the motoring section? You really need to outline who the photographer is, will they be shooting with a rig? lights? etc.

I'm sure if the same conversation was face to face people would find they could express their opinions in more polite ways. Unsure why people have to be twatty just because its the internet.

Seems like a good idea but I agree the emphasis needs to be on the fact that two professionals will be taking most of the photos.

Good general idea, and props for wanting to do it, but poorly executed from a marketing perspective to an audience that wants to protect or build inherent value into their own photography business, for good or bad reasons. I am sure there is no ill will felt towards the photographers either.

I have to agree with the tones of the other posters.

We're photographers in here and we like to think we can do as good a job ourselves, or better, than what $50 will buy.

This is another fun project I've worked on with the boys at warcom and my younger brother for our circle of friends/family/customers/etc, which I thought I'd also chuck on OCAU for the hell of it.. For the second time around now (following on from the Workshop we're also holding tomorrow).

As I'm sure there's one or two guys on here with hotrods/bikes that would be keen tag along and get a nice pic of their hotrod/bike, without paying through the arse for it, etc.

It's $50 for f/f sakes, for a couple of nice photos of guys toys.

Dead set, you guys in the OCAU photography forum are a bunch of whingers.

    Don't like it? Don't come?

Actually we're photographers. We take pictures for other people rather than paying people do it for us.

Nothing wrong with what you're trying to do....it's just misplaced in here!

I was just looking at your pics in another thread, love your work

nb: We're not trying to take your business, obviously!

More than happy to refer guys who want to spend big bucks, over to you though.

I assume that some of the cars are used as props in the glamour shoots? If this is the case I can bring along the 80's Toyota and kill two birds with one stone.

    * Photo of 'fully sic bro, it's all stock' car.
    * Photo of new 'girlfriend' with said car to show jealous mates.

    <serious>

Honestly, put this in the auto forums. There are plenty of guys who would love to have their cars done in a 'Fast Fours' style shot but don't have the $$$. Just look at all the car modding threads people put up.

More cars, more bikes, more options - the better for students.

Picking a plenty, as to what they want to shoot.

Side venture? haha.. What do you expect us to do, get the girls to sit up on a milk crate, or the students magna? :)

nb: Cheers for the kind words guys, and for those of you who suggested we post in the motor forum, but I think I'll give that a miss, before the lynch mob follow me there. heh.

Pretty pumped for tomorrow, we hopefully have 2 hot rods coming!
