Been working my way through a couple of slabs of Steamrail Pale Ale that was marked down; quite reasonable.
Local First Choice had some Rogue Dead Guy Ale marked down; oh what a refreshing change. Chalk and cheese really, but that’s expected. :)

Got a free 4 pack of lime and yuzu flavoured "shochu" (Japanese grain spirit, going by wikipedia it can be made with basically anything, rice, potatoes, grain, sugar) highballs, 4.2%s, 250ml can, nice little sip before cracking open a bottle of wine and while I start making dinner.

It's pretty nice. I usually never buy premade drinks but it's better than your usual vodka-lime-soda mix.

However I just looked up the price of it online. $100 for a case of 24. I would absolutely not buy it at that price. But I'll enjoy the 4 while they last.

Picked up a six pack of Coopers Sparkling Ale last weekend, didn't realise it was 5.8%. Not a bad drop and packs a little bit of punch.

Makes it worth the extra couple of bucks.

What shits me is when trying to compare a few beers of the same % and $ then find some are 330ml to get the standard drinks value down. I want 1.4 standard drinks, not 1.2!

PS now having a couple of Jack Daniels with a dash of water.:thumbup:

Nice, looks like it has the same look and consistency of a Coopers Pale Ale.

Dunno, but I can ask Tim Cooper when I see him Saturday at the golf club if you like :D

Holy shit, I just looked up Chimay on Dan Murphys site and wtf, 9%!?? And only $17.99 for a 6 pack! Outstanding. Unfortunately out of stock but something I'll look out for though.

$17.99 in any 6, in other words per bottle. That's the 750ml though.

I almost had a heart attack, I'd buy up everything they had at $3 a bottle

I've been enjoying a local that makes a barrel aged ale at 11%. I call it my nap time beer, because it puts me to sleep every time. https://www.boneheadbrewing.com.au/products/distraction-ale

Oh bugger, yes you're right. Normally Dan's say "per pack of 6" which is how I read it. And also didn't see it as 750ml too. Now it makes sense :p I'm kinda curious to try one now though.

Really good Belgian abbey beer, the kind of thing you drink one or two off as it's a whole lot of flavour.

I used to buy a dozen each Christmas and drink them a year or two later. The Blue ages nicely in the bottle, mellows a little on the alcohol. That was back when I had an actual cellar though, not sure how it'd handle the heat swings.

An Old Fashioned cocktail without the sugar syrup.
