Nah, not that one. This was a proper shooter, based on the movie.

But thanks though, I never knew this one existed :)

Edit: There is a game called Alcatraz that is based on The Rock, but it was from 2010. This was def late 90's.

i'll keep this game in mind, i'm currently going through my Amiga WHDLoad set and categorising games and to do it i load the game and play it for a few minutes - one thing that's struck me is just how hard to categorise so many of these games were.

Thanks Power :) It's been driving me crazy haha. I cannot remember if you had to drive to the levels or what but that kind sounds familiar to me.

You're not going to believe this but I've gone through my entire whdload install something like 2800 games and I have a couple suggestions but maybe it was just a case that I didn't play any for an extended period when categorising the games. But yeah I didn't really get a sense that anything was what you are describing.

Haha, I can certainly believe it as I've been looking for it and haven't stumbled across it either.

Happy to have the suggestions though as I can check it out.

I do know its a real game, as I know I've played it on separate occasions over the years. :)

    Cool thread.

Here are a couple that are playing in my memory I wanted to add to my Pi 1up cab just for nostalgia rather than great games.

First is a mid/late 80's arcade side scroller car game. Your car might have been a van, graphics were colorful, there were multiple platforms you drove along and could jump between (looked a little the the c64 Transformers platform layout). You couldn't stop moving and was quite difficult. Has a cityscape scrolling background. (Not Moon Patrol much later and with platforms)

The other is also a car combat game. Think it was on Arcade and C64, isometric view Zaxxon style where you shoot enemies, jump maybe but also some boulder shooting/jumping section?

Ah yeah that's a better match to the description. That game is crazy hard too.
