Are you sure it had "Lord" in the title?

I'm not sure how complete this wikipedia page is but it covers platform games from across all different systems (not just PC) and none have "Lord" in the name.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_platform_game_series

Could it have been a relatively unknown shareware game or something not distributed widely?

ha, I have this on Amiga boxed - your description didn't really trigger anything because I always just think of the box art but yeah it was pretty dark wasn't it.

Its not bubble bubble but i remember a game ages ago where you shoot a big bubble and they turn into smaller ones. I think you get weapon pickups too. Errr thats all i can remember.

Racing game where you upgrade car and guns etc, its not top view, car infront view. not sure if it was racing or just chasing.

Remember these two classic games when i was young, not much of a description but anything to start me off would be excellent.

Throwing that out on a slim chance, but I don't think it's your game.

Sure it ain't Asteroids? Or is it the same game mechanics as Bubble Bobble? As in, bottom up ballistic shooting?

For you car game, can you give a console or computer era? Rogue Trip comes to mind fitting your description.

No "best" IMHO. It was originally on arcade (playable on MAME or RetroPie), but due to simple mechanics it got high quality ports to almost every system you can imagine.

I really enjoyed "Super Pang" (aka "Super Buster Bros.") on SNES, because that's where I spent the most time with the game (not having access to a Pang arcade machine when I was a kid, but having a SNES and a disk copier). But again, it's ported to almost everything you can imagine, and the ports are all good quality.

It's also on Android and iOS as well (titled "Pang Adventures", published by DotEmu who do a lot of official arcade ports to mobile), although I hate touch controls. But if you like that sort of thing, DotEmu are very competent with their mobile ports.

    [edit]

Oh, it looks like "Pang Adventures" is also on Steam, XBOne and PS4 as well!
