Successfully cut the case and installed a 1080ti. All works well. See below. Snug fit, the GPU presses against the front plastic of the case, so I think everything worked out well.

Was due to finish putting together son's gf's computer.
Being a dumb clumsy frecker - I'd managed to bend a couple of pins in the CPU socket of that one as well... It wouldn't boot.

    Dismantled that one.

    Dismantled my PC.

Put my MB and her other components into her case.

Installed windows (had to remove some particians on used SSD and reformat).

Tested and tidied up the cabling.

The I put my "new" MB into my case, and installed all my bits and pieces onto it.
Was pleasantly surpprised to find my (OEM) windows didn't crack the shits with new MB and it all "just worked".

Then I started drinking and watched the Tige's win their first GF since I was 12.

It's been a good day.

Wow, I started this thread just over 7 years ago!

Today, my PC finally got an upgrade after 6 years of the main hardware not being touched at all!
2/3 GTX 470s had failed, so I figured it's time for an upgrade.
So out with the 470s and in with a GTX 780 SC, may yet look at getting a second one in the future, and possibly water cooling them, but that's unlikely.

Apart from this, and a new SSD, it's the exact same PC as when I built it back in 2011!

Bit of stuff recently......updated the main rig from a 6700 to an 8700K, plus updating the second rig currently from an old AMD XP4200 (iirc) to a second cheap 1151 coffee lake rig, hopefully.

Need better names for your stuff... I got the In-Wall APs, USG and 8 port 60W switch.
Will need to chuck in another In-Wall AP in the middle of the house when I'm next in town.

Finally have something to contribute to this thread. Busy night last night.

    - Contact cleaner cleanse for my Wacom Cintiq 13hd which I drowned (yet to be tested)
    - Removed and cleaned the keys and switches of my wifes macbook which she drowned with coke (FIXED!!!)

Armed with 3 sticks of ram from Gumtree and office draw find I upgraded 3 laptops at my folks place.

    - Old HP my mum uses for itunes went from a knarly 2gb to 3gb of ddr2. I need to spend an hour with this thing, SOOOOO much bloat ware killing it.

    - My dads ultra book went from 4gb to 6gb. It only has 1 dimm slot and 2gb is in the PCB so I could only bump it to 6gb.

    - Compaq Pentium laptop my mum uses for email, facebook and youtube. Desperately needed a boost as 2gb of ddr3 wasnt cutting it for win10. She got an extra 2gb which came from my dads ultra book. I wanted to give her 6 or 8gb but the windows is only 32bit.

Ended up having one 4gb sodimm left. Who knows where it will end up. But the boost should improve the life of my folks, especially my mum who was complaining of the system being sluggish.

Just a note on the Old HP its on windows 7 atm, would doing the free upgrade trick to get it to win10 be worth it? Ive read win10 is actually more efficient that 7 once you disable all the BS.

Going a case upgrade from a Coolermaster CMStorm to a Phantek Evolv Tempered Glass. Might be a keeper for a while this case.

Also chucked in a NZXT X62 AIO.

Build log?? You just got it :p

There's not going to be any build log for simply swapping a case mikey : )

Have to say though, fuck I love the Evolv and NZXT X62 together.....best looking setup I think I've ever constructed.

now time to sell off the NH-D15 :)

Definitely does mate, the DH15 felt very bulky and cluttered the case.....although an awesome cooler it was unstylish really.

X62 is really beautiful to look at and similarly functional in terms of cooling. As for the Phantek Evolv, well it's the best looking case I've ever had the pleasure of owning, nothing really comes close.....well worth the money imo. Should be a keeper.
