Parts starting to come in.... amazing how much quicker DHL is compared to other "express" posts 20211229_165840.jpg

Agreed completely, I have something coming from overseas with DHL Express, and it's supposed to arrive today, only shipped about a week ago. Other services I have been waiting for weeks/months even with an 'express' shipping option.

So after doing a rough layout on how to mount all the gear in my case i have found that my case (MSI MPG Sekira 500G) as big as it is wont fit the gear i have ordered very well + its pretty much the worst case ever designed for air flow and living in the tropics airflow is essential so now have ordered a Corsair 7000D Airflow case, cancelled the 360mm rad and will be getting a 420mm rad instead which i know will have no issues fitting in

swapped out the 360 nexxxos rad with a crossflow 420 rad + moar fittings

I have just shot myself in the foot, in fact BOTH feet. I just purchased the Lian Li O11D-XL and should have done more research.

I have the RX6800XT LC liquid cooled GPU and cooling the CPU is a Noctua NHD-15 Chromax Black (yeah the bloody big one). If i try to vertically mount the GPU, the water pipes from the GPU will hit straight under the Chromax CPU cooler so it wont fit, and on top of that will also lose my soundcard! Oh well I guess we live and learn. Will just have to wait till I can afford a watercooled CPU cooler and a motherboard that has decent sound onboard..

I've got a Corsair H60 I'm unlikely to use if you want a quick/easy & cheap (except maybe shipping?) solution

It's been working flawlessly for a week or so, so far. Plug n' play. Fingers crossed.

well more bits have arrived (gpu block, Corsair 7000D case), still waiting on a radiator, some fittings and zmt tube... so thought i would get the front rad and pump/res dummied up....and thats where i ran into the first problem, running a 280mm rad in the front pretty much makes the side radiator obsolete and thats where i was going to mount the res.... shit what to do now.... take the brackets off and mount the res directly to the case
    20220114_184337[592].jpg

that works nicely only problem now is.....

    20220114_185428[594].jpg
pump sits out the back of the case..... let the butchering begin

    20220114_172147[593].jpg

    20220114_185522[591].jpg

rear panel closes nicely now, just have to give it a bit of a touch up, paint the radiator black and wait for the other parts to arrive....

Been considering my Cosmos S build and wondering what to do with the D5... I have a Bitspower mod kit/top for it but that's all a bit 2012...
Does EK have a local distributor these days, or do they ship all their stuff direct from Europe, or what? nvm jfgi

Thought about getting a 120flt and fitting that I thought that might fit but then I would have to run the front rad in the highest spot and that would foul with the top radiator fans (when it gets here) and I've spent WAAAAAAAY too much on this as it is

PCCasegear stock them but they are quick to deal with directly, they use DHL for shipping which is usually only a weeks wait for me living in NT. PCCG are pretty quick as well

I don't bother with local shops anymore for EK gear, especially when they have promotions going. I landed all of my gear direct from EK including post MUCH cheaper than what I could get it locally not taking into consideration added postage on top. Plus my last package was sent on the 31st December from EK and was at my door on the 3rd January, faster than some of the local shops are posting. Also getting gear locally lately is a pain in the ass, seems the supply is slowing down and most of the popular items are on backorder or awaiting stock.

Swapped out my case's front panel today with a custom machine/laser cut piece.

Helps make the case almost 4cm shorter while also removing any possible air restriction.

Actually I was just randomly searching on FB Marketplace and came across a random ad. I guess the guy either works at or owns this business called Plasmac here in Oakleigh South in Melbourne. Anyway it was pretty cheap, I sent them a basic image/diagram of the piece I wanted with the internal cutout with rounded edges, etc. and it ended up being $32.50. 4.5mm thick dark tinted perspex, "Marga Cipta" brand. I suppose it's laser cut or something - very clean/precise cut.
